put money on bad teams and you will get the kinds of results like eastern michigan. basically teams that cant get out of their own way and give away covers despite being in the game most of the way.
big difference between an unpopular underdog with the ability to finish the job ... and then unpopular dogs who will simply burn your money. miami falls into the latter category.
When you learn to read lines you will know which games to bet. Looking at "bad" or "good" teams will only cost you money. Winning bettors know this. Take the Jets for example. I know they suck but I still won with them this past weekend. Go figure. What you are saying makes sense if you bet a team week in and week out. Miami is only 2-4 ATS. Yes, they will lose you money in the long run but this week is a great spot for them.
look man, i understand youre still a young cat in this game trying to make a name for himself. but for as many lines as youve read, ive probably read 10 times as many. just putting that out there. ive been doing this for a living and have seen many come and go. you seem like an ok kid. but you need to check your ego at the door if you want to put together more than one winning month or two. id like to see you in this for the long haul. i dont want to see you flame out because you think youve got the world figured out.
btw wand, dont sweat the loss man. any capper that wins good money betting sports over time is going to have to deal with the occasional clunker where the team carrying your money just doesnt bring it. books dont arbitrarily pay out based on how well a team played. lose by 3, lose by 13, loss by 33 ... its all the same. dont let one result alter your capping approach. anybody that hasnt lost a game like this simply hasnt been betting long enough, or simply doesnt bet period.
