Who are the 85% your talking about. If it's foriegn countries then so what. They do not have our national security in mind when they voice their opinion. People in iraq don't have the right to their own opinion. How come you or all the protestors hearts don't bleed for them? How come you and others don't believe they have the right to voice their own opinion? Instead protestors want these people to be oppressed under the worst dictator since Hitler.

For every sad story that this father expressed you will find 5 times as many that are just as sad and tragic but are not as bitter.Every body handles grief differently its the very left wing CNN,ABC (which are about to merge)that exploits the grief for their own political agenda.

Hey Lander,
Perhaps if you could convince the rest of the USA to join in your views, then maybe when the soldiers soldiers come home from this war, they could all enjoy the great "Vietnam-Vet" experience. You know, make them feel like they risked their lives, killed, and lost comrades all for nothing, for an unjust war. Yes it is sad, and even devastating for families who lose loved ones in a war. But those who serve and lose their life, and those who come safely home, are national heroes. SO QUIT MAKING THEM VICTIMS!!
Remember after Sept. 11 when Bush declared war on terrorism and most people said "yeah, pour it on"? It seems that many have turned to chickenshit since those dark days, now that the time has come to do something about it.

TUBBY,
You mean these Vietnam Vets - http://www.vvaw.org/ (Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Inc.) ?
Seems my ideas are not alone.

Your treading on thin ice here. If you went into any veterans of foreign wars group and said some of the things you've said on here, you'd get your ass kicked. Even the ones who are against this war. That baby killer quote wouldn't go over too well there. Thats not my opinion thats fact.

It probably wouldn't GIL, but that doesn't have much to do with the stance of www.vvaw.org , does it?

Gambling,
I told you yesterday - I should not have said that. It was wrong to judge you since I don't know you, your role, your situation, or anything else about your GW experience.
I said it like a man - I was wrong.

I don't know, they're getting kind of old

Yeah i've been in a couple of VA posts i didn't fit into well with the older guys lol. Glad to see your apology and that you didn't mean it. I didn't see it before. Were cool we don't have to hate just because we don't agree.

Yeah, it was in the middle of one of my rants somewhere - a tanget appology, I suppose.

Truce.

Frank,
You seem to have a hard-on about this thread. What is it that you think I'm not answering?

Did Bey voluteer? Yes, as did every soldier.
Did he know the risk? I don't know. He should have.

But my point is Bey wouldn't have died if he was fighting a "just" war. Bush had this man killed. He was let down by the "Commander and Chief". Had Bey died defending our counrty then he would have been a fallen soldier, as it stands he's fallen soldier that died for no cause.

Anything else?

Frank,
Hypothetically speaking.
If Bush is found guilty of knowing using the forged documents to gather support & is impeached would you then attribute the deaths of the casualties to Bush?

Just read through this entire thread WHEW! a lot of interesting points made on both sides, however i think several undeniable truths are being overlooked:

this man did not join the marines say two years ago in hopes of travel or college money, he joined right out of high school which means he has been in for at least 11 years, career soldier. He was a soldier clear and simple, all marines are trained to kill period, thats their job first and foremost and i challenge anyone to dispute that statement. As a career soldier believe me there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that he knew at some point he could be called upon to do his sworn duty and obey the orders of his comander in chief.
I am from maryland, am the son of a retired vietnam vet and grew up knowing that which i just said. I feel bad for his family but he knew--and i'd be willing to bet he was proud of what he was doing even if others aren't......

People die in a war friend! Good men, bad men, women & children. Sometimes you have to grow some balls & do the right thing like Bush is doing now! Saddam had to be taken out PERIOD!.....Quess what baby, I imagine North Korea is next!
