No worries about the wife Varkey. She's an aging relief pitcher on the trading block. Will be on the road all day tomorrow and no time to post winners. Here they are in advance.
June 15th:
Padres over 8.5 -125 1.25/1
I know I've tried to rid myself of totals, but being more selective would be a better strategy. I've got this game at 11 runs. Just to throw out some stats. Padres 5.68 rpg vs lefties. Perdomo 9.50 era on the year, a rookie relief pitcher trying to fill in for the recently departed Shields. Nicolino 3 quality starts in past 10, 2 of which were against the light hitting Phillies, and one in the pitchers park of Dodger Stadium. My biggest hope is that both managers keep the starters in to try to chew up some innings, although neither bullpen is anything special.
Blue Jays -164 1.64/1
Marco Estrada is getting better every year. Sporting a 2.57 (2.05 last 3) era this year. 8 out of last 10 for quality starts. Another start was 5 innings, 1 earned run vs Baltimore. Will count that as quality. Going against a Phillies team averaging 3.34 vs righties. Hellickson comes in with a 4.34 era (5.50 last 3). He's been regressing since leaving the Rays, and the Jays average 4.59 vs righties.
Angels over 8.5 -110 1.1/1
I can't help myself. These 2 pitchers have combined for 6 quality starts in their last 20. Both era's over 5. Last 3 starts, Duffy at 8.62, Santiago at 10.50. Both WHIPS close to 2. That's a lot of runners on base. Both teams are averaging over 9 rpg offense and defense combined. Both pens era 4+.
