I agree McCarthy, while a stubborn brick headed arrogant ass, is a damn good coach.
He dont know what Brett is thinking however. He and that retard of a GM just wanted Favre gone so their asses could get all the credit for GB's success. If Favre lurked around hed get all the credit for winning much like he did last year.
I think McCarthy was responsible for the success Favre had last year by working him hard, limiting his mistakes, and coaching him up. However, he was not there guy. THeyve looked for reasons every year to force him into retirement. Rodgers is their man (and I think he will be ok in the NFL). Thompson drafted him and wants him in there.
I dont have a problem with that. I am shocked at how they mishandled it all though. Contradictions everywhere. Favre isnt commited to football and cant start in GB anymore, but yet Thompson wouldnt release him, wouldnt trade him in the division and even went as far as to punish Minnesota if they would trade the Jets for him by never allowing the Vikes a #1 pick ever again! That doesnt sound like a guy who isnt committed and cant start for your team......that sounds like a spineless GM not wanting his decison to come back to bite him in the ass........Then Thompson says he couldnt sign the paper............fukking please.
