MetsFan44 > first off, LOVE the icon. I don't care who you are, if you don't like that...leave thread now lol....
secondly .... I use the overall standings for the bottom 3 (NL & AL combined). http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings/_/group/9
also to clear out a chase one of the following must happen. A team we are fading wins their way out of the bottom three, but will continue the chase until either winning the last game of the chase or once they lose for instance a game 3 but the previous wins get them out of top three. that will get them out of the bottom 3. So clearing the chase after game 4 and still in bottom 3 then a new chase starts at GM1 again. so there may also be times when there are a few extra teams we are chasing until their chase is cleared out. In NHL i think we had 5 at one time.

Hope this helped.

I didn't keep track of it, I tried checking on my online book but it doesn't go back that far. It did well for me up to All Star break and I got real busy at work and lost track of it and couldn't keep up with the chases. But for what it's worth here's the result from this year's NHL system which is the same concept (minus a pitching staff and goals are less common than Runs are in bases)
System: 103-14 (+$5,751)
YTD: 103-1
Also this was tracked all the way to the end of the season for tracking purposes. I was trying to find a good spot for a cut off point. At the point I was planning on cutting the chases off the track was at 97-12 +$7,077

As mentioned earlier in the thread people who dislike chases mention you need a huge bankroll to do these. Well not everyone is at the same level, I started the chases last year at $25 a Unit. I'm now at $100 (especially after NHL system gave me some house money) So PLEASE follow as you wish, but I want to emphasize that you should NOT pick and choose which games to play, I did that a couple times last year saying there's no way this will win...and the play was a blow out cover. So if you follow, see it through until the chases clear at least and yes it may or may not get pricey

ECC: Ugh I'm prob coming off stupid here but if u already hit mets last night as (Ari gm 1),...then why do u have Arizona again as a "gm 1" fade when this their second game?

The win clears the current chase...a new one begins (fading Arizona) because they are still a bottom 3 team

Game 1 is just the first game in a current chase. Once the team we're playing wins that chase clears out and a new one begins as long as the team we are fading is still in the bottom 3

Cin no longer bottom 3. Pitt lost last night. Do you still chase Pitt vs Cin or double up elsewhere?

We will be continuing the chase until it clears out by either winning our fade or the 4 game chase loses. There are now 3 teams tied at the third to last place on standings giving us 5 chases (happens at times).
