Suggested Line 2: Wisconsin -13.52
Suggested Line 3: Wisconsin -13.74
Suggested Line 4: Wisconsin -12.56
PLAY: Wisconsin Badgers -10 (10 Units)
There has been so much talk about this game in the past week and all the injuries to the Wisconsin Badgers but for me this has always been a program that feeds off culture and Head Coach Paul Chryst has always had his guys in the right frame of mind heading into Bowl Games, regardless of who is available to play. My system is picking Wisconsin to win and cover the spread despite Wake Forest being the highest average plays run per game team the Badgers have seen all season long and it's not even close. A lot of people became pretty big fans of Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman when he appeared on a recent season of the NETFLIX show QB1: Under the Lights along with Justin Fields and Hartman has been really good at Wake Forest even with his #1 target being out for the season. The real question here is can Wake Forest with their very high and fast tempo score points on Wisconsin's #1 ranked total yards per game defense? The Badgers are ranked #7 against the pass and #6 against the run and also rank TOP 10 in points allowed per game in the Country. The only thing missing has been takeaways and Wake Forest doesn't give too many up but I think we see at least 1-2 Badgers defensive turnovers today. Wake Forest's defense has allowed 104 points in their last two games and in four games away from their Home Stadium the Deacons allowed 40.8 points per game in 2020. Wake Forest has also been a very good Bowl Game team in the past but for some reason they are only 1-4 ATS in their last five games played on a grass surface and seem to prefer the turf. Wisconsin is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games played on grass and they are 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus ACC Conference opponents and 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus non-conference opponents. This game might be as ugly as it gets and people will get frustrated but much like they've done all season the Badgers will slowly wear down Wake Forest, score some points when they can and likely keep the Demon Deacons offense off the field long enough to extend their lead with some turnovers. That's usually their recipe.
Trend of the Game: Wisconsin is 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus ACC Conference opponents.
Wisconsin 27, Wake Forest 13
