Arizona Bowl

Ball State vs. San Jose State

Suggested Line 1: San Jose State -12.49
Suggested Line 2: San Jose State -13.05
Suggested Line 3: San Jose State -13.17
Suggested Line 4: San Jose State -13.44

PLAY: San Jose State Spartans -9 (10 Units)

The San Jose State Spartans are looking to do what Coastal Carolina was not able to do and that is complete the miracle undefeated season to cap off one of the best seasons in program history. In order to get that done they are going to have to go through the improbable MAC Conference Champions the Cardinals from Ball State. I say improbably because for the second year in a row the Conference was Buffalo's to lose and someone managed to knock them out. Now this game is being played in Tucson, Arizona which is more in San Jose State territory and really out of Ball State's MAC Conference climate zone so I think it will be an adjustment for the Cardinals. After losing their season opener to Miami-Ohio, Ball State reeled off 6 straight wins to win the Conference and come into this game playing some good football. Offense is everything for Ball State and today they play one of the best defenses they have faced all season. San Jose State is ranked #13 in points scored, #18 in rushing yards allowed per game and #28 in the Country in points allowed per game. They are no joke. What's even more impressive with the Spartans is their complete dominance of Boise State in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game as a +6.5 point underdog and I truly believe this team won't be satisfied with their season if they don't cap it off with a big win in this Bowl Game. Ball State comes into this game 0-4 ATS in their last four Bowl Games and they have also been pretty bad playing on Thursdays going 2-6 ATS in their last eight. San Jose State is a perfect 6-0-1 ATS in their seven games this season and dating back to last season they are 12-3-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Spartans are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games versus a team with a winning record on the season and 13-3-2 ATS in their last 18 games coming off an ATS spread win. They are now 6-0 ATS in their last six December games and 8-1-2 ATS in their last 11 games coming off a straight up win. I think the Spartans dominate on both sides of the ball and cap off their season with a huge W to stay perfect on the year.

Trend of the Game: San Jose State is 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games versus a team with a winning record on the season.

In the irony of not cluttering MFs thread, can we just not do that? Even if he has a losing day, I think we owe him more than a thank you. Let's not have this be 50 pages long by end of season.

Mississippi State a good call, went to script but not sure where I went wrong with San Jose State and the system but that was way off. Onto the final play of 2020.

West Virginia vs Army

Suggested Line 1: West Virginia -8.87
Suggested Line 2: West Virginia -7.01
Suggested Line 3: West Virginia -7.22
Suggested Line 4: West Virginia -7.57

PLAY: Army Black Knights +9.5 (10 Units)

I am really baffled by some of these last minute line movements and how crazy lines have gone in the final hours leading up to kickoff but my system has Army down as a team of culture kind of like Wisconsin yesterday. No matter who is ruled out late or is missing the game they have a decent depth chart of players who have bought into a culture and can fill in without problem. One thing to keep in mind here is that Army was generously given this spot by the Tennessee Volunteers and there is almost no chance they are not going to put their best foot forward and play one heck of a game. Army went 9-2 this season and covered the spread in 7 of their games but I think what has scared off so many people is their performances this season at times as an underdog. They lost 24-10 against Cincinnati, lost 38-12 against Tulane but ended their season with a 10-7 win over Air Force also as an underdog. Now the Seniors get one more chance to get a football win against a West Virginia team that has not played a game since December 5 and that lost two of their last three games heading into Bowl Season. The Mountaineers have a very good defense and they've lived off their defense all season but their one small weakness (if you can call it that) is in the run game and that's where Army is at it's best. What is so overlooked about Army is the fact that they have the #1 ranked pass defense in the Country, the #2 points scored defense and the #2 ranked total yards defense in the Country. West Virginia comes into this game an awful 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 games played in December and they are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games played on a neutral field as a favorite. The Mountaineers are 0-6 ATS in their last six Bowl Games and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games played on a Neutral Field. Not good. Army is a very impressive 5-1 ATS in their last six games versus Big 12 Conference opponents and they are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games played in December. Army is also 6-2 ATS in their last eight games played on a Neutral Field as an Underdog and 5-1 ATS in their last six games coming off a game where they scored less than 20 points. In their last two games of the regular season Army beat both Navy and Army while allowing only 7 points. Their defense is the real and their motivation is also the real deal. Army wins. Team of culture.

Trend of the Game: Army is 5-1 ATS in their last six games versus Big 12 Conference opponents.

Army 24, West Virginia 19

All good Flav. I heard one of the announcers say, SJSU has the OC plus a bunch of players missing.
