This is where I come up with this stuff. Look at Wisconsin's roster. It is mostly local guys from Wisconsin, a couple from Minnesota which are not necesarily hot beds for college basketball talent. The player of the year this year Kaminsky sat for 2 years before playing. They actually redshirt people and develop them. How many Duke guys redshirt. Bo Ryan develops players. Get a lot lower ranked kids yet competes at a level every year.

Same thing could be said for Mark Few. Have Duke and Gonzaga ever went after the same recruit? Coach K will get someone from Chicago, Texas, Ohio, California. Not saying he can't coach but more impressed by Bo Ryan.

Geeze. You cant attract future NBA stars to Madison, Wisconsin. And that is part of what it takes. Wisconsin just beat a team with prob. 7 or 8 NBA draft picks. Face it, the tourney is sort of a crapshoot. Duke is good every year for the last 30 years, but has won 4 championships. You just like to start arguments.

Funny how a guy just has a different opinion than you but he's trying to "start an argument." Maybe he just disagrees with you is all. It's a forum, that's what forums are.

Wisconsin is a perennial power in one of the best conferences in all of America. Of course you can attract guys if you win championships but more importantly, get them to the NBA which is what Bo Ryan doesn't do. Why would a guy go there if he has no chance of going to the NBA?

Duke doesn't have 7 or 8 NBA guys on their team. They have 3 and possibly 4 (Winslow, Jones and Okafor). Dekker and Kaminsky are NBA guys as well so it's basically a wash.

Being good for 30 years and winning championships are very different things. Goes to show you how hard it is to win the big one. Most coaches would die to just have one.

Sorry but Coach K is overated. I would prob. love playing for the guy but really, Brad Stevens came within a shot of beating him with players Coach K would never look at. Duke doesn't recruit. They just pick and choose who they want. I will give him credit; he adapted to the changes. He knows you need 1 and dones now. Bob Knight refused to accept that. Coach K blends the one and dones with the 4 year guys

I am not following your line of thinking on this. Duke has 3 lottery players on this years time and potentially 1 perennial NBA all star. I prefer the way Duke recruits vs. the way Calipari does. Laettner was the 3rd overall pick, Hurley was like the 7th overall pick. I think Battier was a lottery pick. I don't care man. Whatever.

And Enfuego, Russell Wilson is average at best.

Coach K isn't overrated, he's a great coach, but your argument here about recruiting is nonsense. His teams were stacked with big names guys and McDonald's All American recruits. Duke has had more McDonald's All American's than any other team since 1990. Same holds true since 2000. K wins because he recruits incredible talent and because he's a great coach.

Battier played with Jay Williams, Mike Dunleavy, and Carlos Boozer.

Laettner and Hurley played with each other, Grant Hill and Cherokee Parks.

The Singler team you might be able to say wasn't full of incredibly talented guys.

The Singler team was filled with good college players, just not NBA ones. Scheyer, Nolan Smith, Lance Thomas...By the way those 3 were all 5 star recruits. Throw in Ryan Kelly who was a top recruit. Singler was def. a top recruit. Zoubek was on that team who was highly rated out of hs

Grades are given to these guys. Never bring up grades. How many ever "flunk" off a team. Extremely few no matter the school. They all know who the easy "Professors" are which is a word I always hated. Most of those guys cant put a sentence together yet they have 3.9 GPA's. Sure, I buy that.
