Congratulations to The Rx and Pat. Pat is a great man for the job, his integrity and passion are unmatched and his dedication to player preservation is something sorely missing prior to his arrival. It wont be easy, but It will definetly be worth it for all involved.

jerseymike,

i was kind of hoping patrick would see your post and respond to it, but since he didnt i will.

patrick and i were forum buddies in the past. now that we are on the same team, working towards the same goals, i see no reason why we will not return to having a good relationship.

patrick has many positive goals and ideas for the site, he always has. the problem we had was simply a difference of opinion on how to express those ideas.

in short, yes, i believe we have shaken hands!~

Pat seems like a decent enough guy from what i've read of him at g2b's forum.

Strikes me as the type of guy who won't get power happy when a few extra stripes are added to his sleeve.

Tip of the hat to you Paddyboy. @)

I just don't know how Patrick and Shrink can coexist. It's like Larry Flynt hiring Jimmy Stewart to run Hustler.

Ever since I founded The Prescription way back in the middle 90's, I wanted this place to be a MUST for everyone to visit if they were involved in the offshore sports betting industry.

Although I believe I have accomplished this goal, there is more to be done.

Gamblers should be able to feel that they can come somewhere that they TRUST will do them justice when problems occur with unscrupulous operators.

Given that we accept advertising revenues from sports books, I readily admit that it is impossible to be completely impartial when trying to help gamblers who believe they have been cheated...

No matter how hard I tried, there were times I would get criticised by one of our advertisors if I sided with the gambler, and reemed by gamblers and posters if I sided with a payed sponsor...

Perhaps the criticisms were well founded due to the fact that I readily admit it is IMPOSSIBLE for a website relying on revenue from sports books to be 100% objective...

Given all of this, I took notice of a very savy and astute Gambler/Poster named Patrick McIrish who was often very critical of how I ran things.

This guy would get under my skin, cause my stomach to have a few ulcers, and make me swear to get him back one day with my Smith and Wesson if we ever were to meet.

But once I realized that McIrish's agenda wasn't what I thought it to be, I wanted to have him become a large part of my vision for The Prescription.

For what I believe to be really missing at this place and elsewhere, is a gambler who can be trusted, respected, and admired for doing the right thing almost all the time...

I believe Patrick McIrish to be this "Missing Link" (pun intended) who can act as a liason between the gambler and the sports book.

Maybe more importantly, I also believe Patrick McIrish cares about the future of offshore sports betting gambling more than than anything else in his life, barring family and friends...

With all of this in mind, I'd like to extend a genuine and heartfelt welcome to our new fearless leader on this site...

I want posters to know that we really care about you guys, and by hiring McIrish, I believe this site can really raise the bar a huge notch upwards for the entire offshore sports betting industry...

TO EVERYONE(INCLUDING McIRISH)-- This is a terrific hire. I am honored to say that I can probably vouge for McIrish's credibility, honesty, knowledge, savvy , and passion in this forum given the fact that McIrish is a close business associate of mine here in Tampa and fellow passionate hardcore grinding-type gambler like myself. Now having said that here is my point. It is really really difficult, if not impossible, to judge somebody by just reading thier posting persona. No doubt you can to a large extent, but it really does take knowing a person in real life to fully understand what they are really like. Having said that, I can guarantee if you like and respect McIrish's posting style, you will be 100% more respectful of him in real-life. Saying he is a "stand up guy" would be an understatement. McIrish comes with a big stamp of approval from me and I am willing to stake my own name and reputation behind whatever he posts in this forum and know that it all written with honesty, facts, and a betterment for all of gambling and particularly the offshore aspect. Good luck Mr. McIrish, FISHHEAD

I don't post too often but I read weekly to see if any good info is on this forum. But from what I have read, McIrish is by far one of the best posters on any forum. I think that he will be great for the Rx. Congrats!!

Thanks Seven, you too Ger. I didn't want to bog this thread down by thanking everyone individually but it is great to hear some encouragement from the posters. I have always liked the people here without question, hope we can continue to meet your needs.

Scott - good to hear sir. I am planning a trip to CR so maybe I can meet some of you guys when I am down. Talk to you later.

Shrink - I apprciate what you have said. I wasn't interested at first but once I thought it over I had to give this a shot. No one has taken more criticism from me than Ken. He is a bigger person than I am to have offered me a position here after all that. I only say that because I know a lot of people would bring in someone who has been a long time ass kisser, Shrink brought in his biggest critic. I have to say that took balls and not sure many people have done it even if they thought it was best for the site. Why would he do it if he wasn't interested in doing the best he can here for this place? At this point it is too early to say if I am best for the site or not but the fact he made his decision based on things he sees and not what I have said in the past means a great deal to me.
