I went without power for more than three weeks during Wilma in 2005. They even gave out Meals Ready to Eat for people. I don't trust any forecast right now. Gotta prepare for loss of power no matter what.

Unless u have a generator that can run ur house with AC then there is no way to prepare for no power - can't live in 92 degrees with extreme humidity

A NOAA station at Settlement Point on Grand Bahama recently reporteda sustained wind of 45 mph (72 km/h) and a wind gust of 48 mph(78 km/h). A National Ocean Service station at Lake Worth Pier,Florida, recently reported a sustained wind of 40 mph (65 km/h) anda wind gust of 47 mph (76 km/h).

I'm in the Vero Beach area. Amazingly, and i'm not even sure how but I never lost power. It was pretty damn nasty from about 2am till 6am this morning. Went outside and didn't see any damage to my house which is great news. Those things are never fun to go through. Usually the storm isn't so bad but not having power for god knows how long sucks. Plus my wife was losing her mind because she works in a hospital in Melbourne and had to go into work at 6 on wednesday and won't be able to come home until tomorrow.

I live in south florida (west broward county). Yesterday was crazy cabin fever for me since we had to be home by noon.

Luckily yesterday was a very quiet day with no damage to the house, didnt lose power, roads are fine, and my office is perfect shape this morning
