Saw the replay of his last playoff game at Lake Stevens the other night and kid looks like the real deal, sucks if he bolts for Georgia fans.
The talent level and competition of HS programs is not equal outside of a few of the football power states, if the skill positions are not coming from Cali, Texas, La, Ms, Ga, or Fla, I typically don't get that excited. Washington as a state does not produce a ton of top tier talent. The kid might be different but I'd be skeptical until i see him in an allstar game or the Elite 11 camps.

obviously you're not much of a recruiting guy because Eason is known by everyone that follows it. Anyone who is #1 at his position gets there because of their camps and all-star games not because of who they play in high school.

He was a top 3-4 competitor in last summer's elite 11. I was talking to a HC from down in warner-robbins at the UGA/BAMA game that camped this kid and said he has the most talented arm he has ever seen from a HS qb, especially for someone 6'5". He said the big concern is mechanics as he was really, really raw.

btw about 10 years ago i heard almost identical stuff on Phillip Sims so it doesn't make him a can't-miss. Most should be asking who the f**k is Phillip Sims. camping and talent and arm strength are all measurables but much more difficult to figure it out what's b/w the ears.

short version is that whoever gets Eason's commit is getting probably the most talented, but raw, true QB in the nation this year. Prefer he goes outside the SEC but as long as he's in the East that works as well

Eason could have signed with any school in the nation. Well, maybe not a couple of teams like Georgia Tech, Navy etc..
If Mark Richt lands a coaching job...don't count the kid out from joining him. Strong relationship between the two.

I have never understood why a kid from the west coast would want to play across the country on the east coast or visa versa.
Just the travel/cost for the family to see him play would be a nightmare.

Happens often though.

According to the Miami Herald, the Miami job is Mark Richt if he wants it.

Richt was in Miami today.

Richt played for the Canes and graduated in 1982.

I still think Eason ends up at Georgia. I'm assuming of course that uga hires kirby or another pro style coach. If they hire Mullen, or Herman maybe he leaves. If he does it looks like Florida or Michigan would be front runners but honestly, from a playing time standpoint Georgia doesn't have really anything in front of him. Michigan is about to have piles of kids that were all pretty highly rated and a couple years into college now.

well, Florida's recent 4-star QB commit (Franks) just got word of the Eason visit and isn't happy....he has camped with Eason several times including Elite 11 so that should tell you how good Eason is:

Jacob Eason, the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the nation, was scheduled to visit Florida Tuesday. And another quarterback recruit was less than thrilled about it.

Feleipe Franks, the nation’s No. 3 quarterback (according to Rivals), was asked what he thought about Eason, a longtime Georgia commit, visiting Florida. Franks committed to the Gators on Sunday.

“Not good,” Franks told SEC Country.

haha I just read this same thing. Pretty weak on Frank's part honestly. I mean I get it, he wants to be the only guy, but you know that any big boy program is going to bring in a guy every recruiting class. Basically just don't comment on it at all cause it makes him look like he doesn't want the competition by saying this. I think this is why eason stays at uga though. There really isn't any competition for him. Anyone they bring in will be atleast a year behind him. I'd love to have him at Michigan but I don't see it happening.

Jeff Driskel was the top HS QB coming out and killed it in the camps....and we know how that turned out.

The Florida qb recruiting situation will be interesting to watch. Might end up without Franks or Eason!

Mark Richt should not be feeling too down and out because he is getting a lot of attention from several schools. It's being reported several schools have contacted Richt with Maryland pushing the hardest. Richt is probably going to meet with Terp officials either today or tomorrow. There is a connection there that favors a possible marriage. Former Georgia AD Damon Evans (2004-2010) is an associated AD at the school.

Richt would be a perfect fit at UVA. Reports on Monday said Maryland was going to hire DJ Durkin. I wonder what happened there.

Dino Babers was rumored to be going to UCF on Sunday now Scott Frost is apparently the coach there.

Beg to differ my friend.

Eason was committed to Georgia because of Richt.

I still say if Mark lands a key job...Eason will follow.

Bobo captured Eason. I would be suprised if Richt goes anywhere this year. If he goes, it looks to be Maryland or UVA....in which the Terps have a great QB coming in. Once UGA gets Helton, Eason would be crazy not to come to Athens.....plus i dont think his father would let him go anywhere else.

I'll give you some strong odds he doesn't commit to Colorado State Mr. W.

Better chance of him signing at Oregon St than Colorado St lol. I meant that he was just as close with Bobo as he is with Richt, I mentioned in a thread early this year when Bobo was hired wondering if it might affect his still going to Georgia.

Understand my friend...yes Bobo was a factor in commit to Dawgs.

Bobo went 7-5 his first year at Colorado State. I'm hoping he does well like the former
coach and gets a chance at the big time. Good guy...good coach.

Loyal to a fault.

RT - I'm not a recruiting guy because that's just like fantasy games or dungeons and dragons for folks that never played the game of football. There are tons of guys that have big arms and all the measurables every year that don't amount to a hill of beans because they've been the big fish in some very small ponds. In your own reply you mentioned that he's VERY RAW and does not have the mechanics. My guess is he's probably not very mobile either which spells disaster to me. Just my take though.

riiiiiigggghhhhtttt

the guys that rate the recruits, coach them at camp, and tell me first hand about some kids, ahemm, "never played the game of football"? good stuff

btw, the georgia HS coach who talked up Eason has won something like 10 regional championships and a state title. but, probably knows a lot less than you that just heard the kids name yesterday for the first time

better go back to your predictions on Bama's program demise...in fact, witch Smart, Schumman, and Cochran leaving the staff for UGA now would be a good time (and, btw, i actually think this could be the first domino that starts a slide....).
