Im very curious how many of these people paid there own 50K. Even more curious how in the world Richie "Fingers" Sklar got in this tourney. Who was the sucker that put him in? This guy has a hard time coming up with money for a racing form half the time.

Sklar raised an eyebrow with me. Could there be a worse winner than him as far as reputation.
Lots of guys are staked by either their sponsor sites or a few of the rich vets. Suffice to say Chip and Doyle likely have more than a few horses in the event.
There's several rich backers that for some reason throw their money at poker players. No names but guys who run companies in town and outside of town seem to want to invest in poker tournaments.
Some of the guys you probably haven't heard of either won big internet tournaments or prelim events and are taking their shot.

Is Antonius still in? Best poker player in the world in my view. Never mind missed him on your elimination list. Still a phenominal player and deserved 2nd favorite.

GD and Rail, here is the story of how Sklar earned his buy in via the taoofpoker.

Sklar chopped a HORSE satellite and had half of his buy-in. He then went into the VIP lounge and picked up 12k in less than ten minutes on their putting green. He was wagering with some of the heavy hitters and secured 3/4 of his buy-in. When he walked back into the hallway, he bumped into an old friend who bought 1/4 of a piece of him. Within one hour, Sklar has his buy-in to the 50k HORSE event. As soon as he busted out of HORSE, he said "I'm heading to the lounge to win my buy-in for the main event."


Also, royalfan, I think Antonius busted out yesterday.
