Babar Bush, Condoleeza, McCain, Jeb Bush, Palin, Giuliani, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz... most honest people Ive seen in TV LOL

Maybe but the dems listed are just as bad, and probably worse, because they're better at it. The WMD's thing, and what happened to Joe Wilson, who also used be a Republican is why I left the Republican party. Everyone knew the intel was shoddy at best, including Dems that went along because they didn't want to look soft on terrorism. Amazing to me that Rove can out an agent, and it's fair game, but if one outs government spying on their own citizens, they're a traitor.

Agreed in a way... always more leaned to a dem vote because of secondary issues BUT I'm a Ron Paul supporter for life

I think back to that time and remember thinking, as did the rest of the world, the intel was pretty darn solid. Turns out it wasn't but it was not shoddy then.

The facts don't support that. Joe Wilson actually gave intel that most of the WMD stuff was shoddy, and unreliable. Yeah Saddam had chemical weapons at one time, we knew that, and were okay with it when he was at war with Iran. So yeah we knew that, but there was plenty of evidence that it had been discontinued. Iraq trying to get nuc's or being in league with terrorist, was bull shit.

It's easy to say that now sure but not at the time.

There were plenty of Dems (and a very few Reps)who were smart enough to know the "evidence" being trumped up by Bush/Cheney and their minions was BS, and going to Iraq was a dumb war, at the time. Obama was one, and it's the single reason he crushed Hillary in 2008, and became President. If she had voted against Iraq, come out vocally against Iraq early, like Obama did, Obama is still in the Senate, and Hillary is finishing up her 2nd term. Unfortuantely he got Iraq wrong this time and re-entered a War we have no business in, but that's another matter for another thread.
It was easy to say what Obama said at the time if you had a brain and some courage. He did. Unfortunately it disappeared this time around.

Even if it was British Intel?

How'd they get every other politician and multiple countries to go along with this plan?

They didn't. There were some Politicians smart enough and courageous enough not to go along to get along. Obama was one.

Joe Wilson was saying it, he's someone that I was aware of before this article, someone that I respected and admired before this article. I was pro Iraq war at the time personally, and WMD's wasn't what sold me, it was violating the treaty. The President exaggerated and used fear mongering to convince the public, and I can't respect that. Dem's knew too.

Obama wasn't in the Senate yet, so it was easy for him to be against it, he didn't have to vote. His true colors, have come out since becoming POTUS.

I agree. He has proven to be a War Monger who was elected to get us out of the Middle East, not re-engage and stay there.

But, at the end of the day, the case was made to move forward and the Iraq War Resolution was passed by Congress with 40% of Dems voting for the resolution.

In addition, there is a long list of countries that also participated in OIF that is too long to list but suffice it to say, some of these countries don't put troops out there "just because."

All I'm saying its it's real easy for us to sit here now and say this was wrong or we should've done something different but back then, following 9/11, few people thought the intel was bad, there was an overwhelming amount of support for this mission and the US didn't go at it alone. It wasn't like Bush was the only one to see the intel and become a one-man-mission. That's not how it happened.

And because we pulled out of the Middle East, we are now facing ISIS. There are many ways to look at this.

Something tells me they'll keep in the doghouse for awhile but won't fire him. Which might be the better option even though he is a lying liar with a penchant for fabulism. After this latest incident I'm betting going forward that he'll be less likely and less able to contort the news to fit his world view. Which is a good thing. People still won't trust him. But it seems to be the people we place too much trust in that can cause us the most harm...
