so you don't have a CDL?

what they paying? and how long do they want you to stay if they train you?

No CDL, $4500 up front minimum... or pay for classes and it totals $9400 thru the trucking school. BUT, guaranteed a job after getting your CDL.

Don't think its worth it ATM

Don't know about the sales side. This guy sets live lines and literally makes $10 an hour. He said the job is easy and he just copies and posts lines that they sell to books, but he does have to pay close attention. It certainly seems like a much more important job than flipping burgers.

Yeap, they pay pretty much the same down here for same task (if you are looky. Gone are the days where you could easily do it for $20 an hour

Well, subjective, depends on the circumstance I'd reckon. To us yes linesetting VASTLY MORE IMPORTANT than burger flipping but to those waiting for burgers? Overall though...you're totally right.

$10 hour for setting live lines is terrible. Job deserves at the least $17/hour.

What about making your own job? Likely a version (at least) of this already exists around you but you'll re-create it, re-mold it into infinitely better due to your excellent training here on RX Forum which has left you a very highly skilled online communicator.

Offer to handle all response to online comments & communication for the cab company you drove for (or another bigger one if yours was small and lame with no online presence) make yourself point person on responding to all Yelp!! complaints, facebook comments etc.

Convince them to give you however much money per year you need to furnish them with an Minister of Online Communication more competent and qualified than they could get anywhere else which is what you'd be cuz you drove...you've been in the trenches.

Ask for more money than you'd ever possibly earn driving in exchange for priceless Public Relations duties performed by you.

This could work. Whoever they have doing it now is some obese gal who has never set foot in a cab and really doesn't care. You would care because to be able to do this while getting what you'd need to support the fam would = you + freedom.

From dangers of driving, To being able to be home with daughter 'n wife whenever you desire. To hang out at Westgate Sportsbook with all the other cab drivers whenever you want...and all you'd really have to do is interact online with complainers (and the very rare complimentor) towards the cab Co., post whatever they needed to their Facebook & Twitter when you felt like it and mailing coupons for free cab rides to egreged passengers...

Riders who drivers cussed out and such.

Complainers who never got a cab or got a super late cab and the like...

All it would take for this to work is for you to realize that theres no one better suited or more qualified to be Minister of Online Communications for the Cab Company than you and making them understand that truth.

Good for you

Try the limo biz for a little bit, seems like it would be fun, with the same amount of freedom.

Guys who use me as a Proxy this year, if I am driving that day, will probably get a free limo ride to and from the Westgate as a bonus lol.

Limo really? Fewer rides and the tips aren't that great much of the time. The limo guys seem to spend more time at the airport than the cabbies and they get no benefit from long hauling tourists.

Will you be able to go back to driving a cab?

Not trying to be a downer on the new job but driving a cab in Vegas can very very lucrative if you know how to do it....the real money is not in fares.
