Also he beats the shit out of women and has done time for it so that is a big reason people aren't crazy for him. So it isn't all to do with how he fights in the ring.

Some people don't seperate entertainment and morality and they think he is an awful person so that is why they hate him.

i don't think anyone condones that just like I don't think anyone condones manny not being there to vote in congress, his cheating on his wife , his homophobia, his 75 mil tax evasion. I think people just like to watch him the same way patriots don't condone murder but liked aaron hernandez's production

So was anything said after the fight about this being Mayweather's last fight? Did Mayweather hint at retirement?

He has 1 more fight on his showtime deal and will fight in Sept.

Unfortunately he will not be -200 that night.

I agree....Same reason 20mill people watched Two and a Half Men. They weren't thinking about Charlie Sheen being a coked up women beater, they thought the show was funny.

They both fought DeLaHoya & Manny walloped Oscar Floyd did not
They both fought Mosely & Manny walloped Shane Floyd did not
They both fought Cotto & Manny walloped Miguel Floyd did not

Finally they fought each other & Floyd as usual outclassed his opponent did any one think the outcome
would be different. Manny didn't even resemble the Manny of previous fights. Floyd does that
to all hopefuls he makes them seem hopeless.

A lot of people think a shit talking, cocky ass dude should be a badass in the ring who knocks people out... not dancing and prancing around for 12 rounds. He's by far the best tactical boxer out there who makes it incredibly difficult for people to hit him. He's had like 1 KO in his last 20 or so fights. Doesn't mean Floyd is doing anything wrong or should change his style, it's just people will have an unfavorable opinion of him because they rather see someone who knocks people out, not someone who figures out ways to win a decision by avoiding being hit.

Thats fine I would just tell them to stop watching Floyd. The sport isn't called knockouts r us. There's tons of other shit you can watch for KOs. I'm a loser boxing purist and what Floyd does is flawless. It's not for everyone and trust me I get it but if you like boxing Floyd is it. He's smarter and quicker than everyone and he puts more fear in to people than tyson did

You can like boxing and still think Floyds style and this fight was boring. In my opinion, most people watch boxing to see someone win by either a knockout or the other person can no longer fight anymore. At the very least, they want to see two guys trying to win the fight by knocking out the other opponent. Very few people enjoy fights going the distance and it's left to judges. They rather see the fighters decide the fight and earn the purse. This fight is actually an embarrassment for boxing as a whole. Was a lesson in how to win a decision in a boxing match, not how to beat the other person up.

I can see why people who aren't hardcore fans of the sport and shelled out $100, went to a bar, hosted a party or whatever feel this way.

What Weezy is saying is true though. The way Floyd fights defensively is an art form and as a hardcore fan of the sport he can appreciate that.

I think a lot of people who got excited for this fight tonight just had expectations based on pure hope. We've seen how Floyd fights and dominates, his brand of dominance isn't going to please the majority of people watching the fight. It just isn't going to be aesthetically pleasing enough for the casual fan or even the hardcore fan that wants a bloodbath but why was anyone remotely expecting that?

There is brilliance in what he does that gets overlooked because people don't like the person or the style.

If someone shelled $100 thinking this was gonna be the FIGHT OF THE CENTURY then they probably wanna look at the ability of marketing to persuade them to do things rather than the performance of the fighters.

I get it but at least one of them came to win the other was petrified. Just think tonite was about Floyd winning and manny backing down. If you hated to watch it that's fine but don't blame Floyd blame manny. He pressed no action and wanted no part of Floyd no one does so I don't blame Floyd for taking his win and not doing something stupid.

I got the fight, it played out like I thought and I have no issue with it. I didn't expect a slugfest Frazier/foreman fight. I saw what I expected and loved it manny was supposed to be the guy to hang with Floyd and he had nothing. Again personally Floyd sucks but as far as his skill there's no one close and I appreciate his superiority. A lot of people won't like to watch the way he does it but do.. I would agree with you that there's brilliance in what he does and how great he is at his sport gets shitted on because people hate everything that goes along with him. Not sure why anyone that knows anything about Floyd would have expected him to stand in the middle of the ring and trade shots. That's punching and he's a boxer

I personally didn't have any expectations of Mayweather changing his style. I look at it more that he's undefeated and the champ so it's his opponents job to figure out a way to beat that style. The only thing that shocked the hell out of me was Pacquaio's lack of desperation. Thought with his entire country watching him and all his pride he'd take a little more risks to beat him. I mean even after round 8 when it was well known that Mayweather was running away with the fight if it came to a decision he still kind of just sparred with him. Trying to win fights by simply winning a judges decision after 12 rounds is simply not very entertaining. And I would venture to say that 8 out of 10 people who watched that fight left disappointed and that's probably generous... not a single person I watched it with or talk to enjoyed it, which means a business that is meant to entertain, simply is not entertaining. Although, I would still pay for the next match, which makes me the fool and Mayweather the man laughing to the bank... but the gathering/event is more entertaining than the actual fight these days. Just not a good product.

I 100% blame Manny for allowing Floyd to win with his boring style of boxing. That doesn't mean Manny could have won with a different strategy... but obviously the strategy he used tonight was not effective. Even if it meant that he risked being knocked out, it would have been nice if he actually tried to win any way possible. I think that's what people are so upset about. Both fighters pretty much left the fight unscathed. Makes it seem like both fighters were more worried about getting hit than knocking out their opponent.

I won some decent money on the fight....had bets at -200 , -185, -180, & -175... and have 7 future parlays with a Money leg now tied into them..But man, that fight other then winning some cash , was a yawner...very unimpressed...both fighters came out of it unhurt, almost untouched, no blood shed.. pretty much a run and duck exhibition..Neither fighter should be bragging that they won...neither did enough to claim a win...Easily could be my final boxing match to watch...future looks bleak..

Floyd only landed 148, and both threw less than a 1000 combined, averaging 35/36 punches a round, mostly push jabs. Pathetic on both parts. Enough said!
