Paris-$7 for a Bud Light?

pretty much standard in vegas from what I saw on last trip..... try drinkin Vodka Red Bulls, they are 14$ each.

Who pays for drinks in LV tho, I simply buy a bottle and mix in my room, other than that I drink for Free on the Casino Floor, Cocktail waitresses hardly care even if you are not playing.

The one place you get fucked on Drinks is Dinner, but most places dont care if you walk in with a full glass and bring it to the table, so at least it gets you started.

If that is what you like then The Palms is for you. Hard Rock is just what it says, HARD ROCK.

Palms is off strip tho so you might need a rent a car or take cabs, not far tho.

Most people who like HARD ROCK cant stand hip hop, electric shit, so dont expect much of it at HARD ROCK.

Fast replies :103631605. Sorry for going off-topic, I wanted to start a topic when I saw this one.

Will check out the Palms, just hope that it isn't too far from the strip.

BTW, I am not going to Vegas for the clubbing, I can do that here in Europe. Holland hosts some of the greatest electronic parties in Europe, like dancevalley
:dancefool
I am going for the whole Vegas-experience and I also want to visit the Grand Canyon.

There is no reason why you cant stay at 4 or 5 different hotels during your stay, just make sure you dont check in between 12 and 5pm, lines are crazy, get the bellboy to hold your bags and check in very early or very late to avoid lines. Of course you can always do what I do which is simply go to the VIP PLAYER line, and even though I am not a VIP or PLAYER I simply make up some excuse and grease the check in girl a 10$ or 20$ bill.

Everything is about money in vegas, but since you are bringing POUNDS/EURO, you should be laughing.

I am only going to stay in Vegas for 5 to 7 days (also going to LA and SF) and I don't really want to move around everyday from hotel to hotel, but I could stay in 2 or 3 different hotels (2nights per hotel), I can probably survive 2 days of Hard Rock :D.
A good sportsbook with decent lines is also a big plus in my book.

willem of orange,

I posted a strip map above for you, as you can see both Palms and Hardrock are off the strip, but its really only a 5 or 10$ cab to strip, which is about .25 Euro's now a days so im sure your fine, maybe 2 or even 3 hotels for a week in vegas is fine. Venetian is in the heart of it all, right accross the sreet from the Fashion show mall for shopping.

actually, u cant see THE PALMS on the above map but it is right near THE RIO

great minds think alike, that is just what I said :toast:. The Trust fund kids with their parents money flowing out of their pockets at the Palms make me sick, they are so pretentious it is amazing, nothing like the good old rock n roll crowd at all.

Despite all that, Palms is probably number 2 on the list for me, I prefer these off strip hotels, where you arent processed like just another sheep. Venetian, Mandalay, MGM in many ways are just like that..... bahh bahhh, money please next, bahhh bahhh, money please next.....

:nohead:
perfect description there, quite a contrast with the other half of their customer base which is local blue hairs who go for the great video poker.
If planning to go to the palms be warned.
rates for the period around the bash for the new tower are incredibly low, it has many extra amenities, such a good deal i find it hard to believe.

I would also reccomend a car if staying at hard roc or palms, walking is not feasible.

Stayed at:

Venetian
Luxor
Mirage
MGM
NY NY
Frontier

Favorite was the Venetian. THe normal gambling doesn't interest me much, I mainly play poker and some VP. The V's poker room in my favorite and they have some decent VP. Location is above average IMO and the rooms and amenities are great.

Mirage a pretty close second.

Have stayed at through the years:

Sands
Dunes
California
Union Plaza
MGM Grand (Lou Rawls in the lounge)
Imperial Palace
Flamingo
Las Vegas Hilton
International
Golden Nugget
Vegas World (Stupak days)
Planet Hollywood
Sam's Town
Hacienda

Favorite: California back in the day, Sam Boyd would work until 3:00 or so in the morning and then hit the lounge. Every 5 minutes or so the bartender would bring a drink and say "you're drinking with Mr. Boyd."

Had the opportunity to talk with Sam Boyd one-on-one on numerous occasions. One helluva guy and sharp as a tack.

Miss those days, to tell you the truth.

I used to go to Vegas 2x a year before I got married, just stayed at the MGM last August for my honeymoon.

Very nice, but *huge*, sometimes you need 20 minutes to get to a designated point inside the hotel to the casino.

I'm particularly fond of the Golden Nugget.
Nice roon, nice casino, good food, big, but not overwhelmingly so.

You know you are getting old when I remember staying at the Desert Inn for golf, the Stardust for the cheap rooms in the back by the RV lot............

I'd suggest the Golden Nugget if you want downtown, Wynn (if you can get a decent deal) on the strip.

Nice thread. I've stayed at Lots of Places here. So many damn conventions in this town for my job i really should have purchased a house there.

Funniest thing to happen to me. 1st time I stayed at the Mandalay Bay - i got woken up one of the nights because there was this very bright light coming through the "adjoining" room - that walk through door. DAMN BRIGHT. So, i went over to the door to try and figure out what what was going on ... ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom, they were filming a PORNO in the room next to me.

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but this is one of the few reason's i'm ok with getting woken up in the middle of the night. Listening to the filming was fricken awesome. The funny ass part was, after hearing everything getting filmed, the chick left the room and i ran to my door to look out the peep hole.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to see this chick if i was going to have dreams about here. Well, there she was in all her glory, about 45 years old and probably a damn crack whore. Yeah, she was tall, thin and blond, but that face - fuckin ugly as sin. What anybody would have seen in her I have now clue.

Now, onto your regularly scheduled program of hotel listings.
