Grade 1 winner Americanrevolution (#1) figures to go off as a heavy favorite as he returns from a lengthy layoff in this Evan Shipman. Most will assume that the class relief will be enough to get this talented 5-year-old back to the winner’s circle. His TimeformUS Speed Figures, routinely exceeding 120, absolutely tower over this field. However, the layoff has to be a concern for a horse who only managed to make three starts in 2022, those being his only races since winning the 2021 Cigar Mile. It’s also worth pointing out that some of his worst races have come off layoffs. He clearly needed a start to get back into top form when he returned in the Blame off a similar break last year. I’m also concerned about the tendency he’s displayed to cock his head to the left while running. That bad habit was the most pronounced in last year’s Jockey Club Gold Cup, and he also was doing it in his most recent workout for this return.
Hey Michel here is the SAR Oddsmaker take on the #1 Race 9. I am trying to beat him. see what happens.
