Can down 24 beers within 8 hours and still have my wits about. I dont do strip joints. Dont need that shit. My wife is hotter than all those whores anyway. Im an above average capper in all major sports. I USUALLY win when I go to Vegas. I know all table games, but rarely play them unless its for pure entertainment.

My buddies and I are the life of the party when in Vegas. Everywhere we go. You would be lucky to hang out with us. Free entertainment.

I see this in this situation as well as the last few..Kruser6 felt it the other day...
A group of guys hang out in a bar. After awhile they know the owner well and they become "regulars".
They grab their own beer out the cooler , they might watch the front while the bartenders in the can. If the peanuts runout they go back in the store room and get them. And when they bring special quests they get the best of everything. I hate to use the word "privlidges", not only because i cant spell it but its not the exact word im looking for....But its kind of a combination of that and respect and trust.
Then 1 day some new help shows up and when u reach for a beer he slaps ya hand....When u go get nuts he says "employees only back there" and when u bring in some friends he's never got their brand...
Now all along u were never anymore than a customer but due to ur senority you felt like more than that....and when told ur just another customer it hurts..you might even go find somewhere else to hang out, after all you'll be just another customer there too..
I think a good buisness owner nutures these regulars and recognizes them as his core base...his ACORN so to speak (min 1 shot per post) and i think in my own opinion that nuturing of the base has either been a little soft or possibly they seek a new base..

Whale - We hope you reconsider as you have always been a valuable and very interesting poster at our forums. The situation with Barman got out of control and for our side we apologize. Someone that has given the RX as much time and loyalty we should have at the least PM'd or emailed you asking for you to refrain before we just flipped a switch.

We welcome you back but we need you to stop with the gay speak and try to avoid Barman as we will tell him the same.

One regular at a time, a large # of the old regulars have given up their rx barstools and found other watering holes to hang out.

Maybe its time to look for another bartender instead of finding new customers.

Barman likes to make fun of people, and goad people. I used to
let it bother me until I realized that I was taking him way too
seriously.

Though I agree with DAWOOFDADDY that it's problematic when
you have a mod that likes to get under people's skin, and then has the power to penalize them when they react.

Even though Barman and I are on the opposite sides of the political
and religious spectrum (and have had our sparring battles),
he went to bat for me when he and I felt like
I was unduly banned on here, and I appreciate that.

I hope Whale sticks around, and I hope everyone can try and take
these forums a little less seriously - myself included.

Probably wont be able to attend the bash. Too many responsibilities going on at that time.

Thats the 2nd week of HS football practice. Would be cool though. You have no idea what fun it is to hang out with a bunch of drunk HS football coaches. I have many a story.... These guys are crazy.

Hopefully a bash can be held at some point outside of HS football season. Perhaps in December during winter break. I always go the weekend before Christmas. Vegas is dead. College bowl game have begun and NFL on Sunday. Best time of year.

Had WW been allowed to slide with his F-You post what do I tell all the other posters who have been given time off or placed on post review for the same offense. Of course I don't want to see posters leave but I have a thousand posters to think of not just a few who are more vocal than the majority. I always try to give a poster the benefit of the doubt if he or she writes me and feels they have been wronged.

Regarding losing posters, I have discussed this with management and no one wants to lose any posters but on the other hand we have to maintain some semblance of order, at least in our moderated forums. We do not want the Rx to turn into "brawl mall" which has been slowly happening in the Political Forum and to a certain extent in Bookie Chit Chat. The few rules we do have are mainly involved in simply being civil with one another.

There is no need to call each other some of the names I have been reading in various posts lately. I really don't know what happened to people getting along with each other anymore. If your not gay your retarded, if not retarded your a moron, if not a moron an idiot etc etc..

This kind of posting goes on everyday. Politics is the absolute worst in that regard, if I had my way I would disbann the politcs forum as it has become nothing more than a civil war within the site itself.

The sport forums have occasional disputes but compared to Politics they are not even close when it comes to posters insulting each other. That is what happened in this case between Barman and WW, an argument over gay rights, seriously does anyone think TheRx exists so that people can argue with each other about gay rights, or religion, abortion, gun control etc? I don't think so.

I emailed WhaleWager earlier and the truth be known we get along fine privately. He is not banned and is invited to stay or post whenever he wants. He is also very welcome to attend our upcoming Bash in August.

I do apologise to all of you who think The Rx is wrong to enforce the no profane insult or name calling rule. One I posted back in September of 2008 and made sticky since in the politics forum.

Sorry for the now to long post but FWIW I sincerely do apologize to anyone who was offended by this incident and promise to make our moderators less visible whenever possible. I assume complete blame for what happened with WhaleWager and apologize to him also. I wish him the best of luck no matter where he posts and publicly and sincerely apologize for the entire incident.

Naturally we will still be running our contests as much as ever and there are a ton of details I need to deal with to make sure that Rx Bash 2009 is a success. My goal as it has been for the previous four Bashes is to make the event as enjoyable for you the posters as possble.
