As it should be. They’re the most powerful and dominant conference in the last 15 years if not more. Not to mention the money the SEC brings in for the playoffs. And again the best 2 teams in the country played against each other yesterday.
I don’t disagree

They should never put ranking out since they mean nothing

just show up one weekend and see how much money you got sitting at your seat and vote

Exactly

Would’ve made more sense if there were no prior rankings

Committee got it right. No way they were ever leaving out an sec champion

committee messed up in last weeks rankings. If they ranked them as they should have, there would be much less blow back today.

last week should have been:
Washington 3
Oregon 4
Florida Dtate 5
Texas 6
Bama 7

then today is very simply. Florida state didn’t play their way out, but Bama and Texas were more impressive and earned those spots and jumped fsu.

the screw up was ranking fsu 4 last week, and keeping Ohio state relevant

Yep agree with this

It was last week's rankings that create the fucked up logic IMO

To a certain degree I feel like:

Ohio State/Michigan was the first semi final

Georgia/Alabama was the second semi final

Now you have Alabama/Michigan as the "championship"

Not writing off Texas/Washington winner, but just how I feel

Committee got it right under the circumstances.

Georgia is better than Wash & Michigan & Texas but so much pressure on the committee it would be too controversial to include GA and pull one out.

(can’t believe how many think Fla State should be “in” they’d be crushed first round with backup QB)

Shows again that the rankings don’t matter until the end of the year. After seeing this play out, I’d like to give L2 credit. Florida state was never going to get in. If Georgia had won, Texas would have still been in. The only way FSU was getting in would be for both Texas and Alabama to lose.

which is even more boggling as to why they ranked them 4th last week. And again if both Alabama and Texas jumped into the top 4, it’s even more boggling why Ohio state was placed at 6 last week.

Rankings are for television revenue. Rankings are for the consumers to debate. Why have preseason top 25 when it handcuffs multiple teams leaving them little chance to move up through the rankings.

FSU was preseason #7, but apparently it didn't mean enough for them to move up throughout the season.

Teams like Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and Ohio St. have the edge every year on reputation and past year results. They lose early and still have time to build their resume back up.

Ohio St. lost late in the season and it cost them!

One issue I believe that could solve some problems is don't rank the teams until they start conference play. We all know that won't happen because of $$$$$$.

I'd say Georgia has as good an argument that they got screwed over as FSU has in their argument.
