Kojak, I think you are going to do well this weekend. I am playing the Chargers and the Vikings really big myself. I think you see the same things I was seeing. I got the Vikings at 6 earlier in the week, because I thought that was a bargain. Favre is always scary when your betting against him, as he is one of the few guys that I dont bet against, but the Packers D is just about as bad as the Vikings. The Vikings loss to the Redskins is the reason for this high line. The Redskins have had a good defense all year, and their offense improved alot in the last 4 games. This is a great pick, probably the best of the week.
The Seahawks should also cover, but they have such a poor pass defense that it makes me nervous to take them. Rams are horrible on the road and even worse outside as well.

And the Jets? they havent beat a good football team all year. Look at their schedule. Everytime they stepped up they showed they were a notch down from the A level teams. Chargers will roll at home on saturday night. I am sold after watching their JV team totally shut down the Chiefs on sunday.

Good luck this weekend.

On paper I like the Viking and the points. BUT after watching the redskinks game last week it seems that team has nothing left. They looked beaten, tired and ready to call it a season. The entire fourth quater of that game the whole team was looking at the scoreboard hoping for carolina loss instead of concenrating on winning there game. That no way to go into the playoffs. I most likely be passing on this game.

Hey oldirtyku..

Did you happen to see WR Randy Moss leaving the field of play with his head tilted downward prior to the games conclusion?

Deb,

Yes. The Redskins is local team so I got to watch the game in it entirety. The 4th quarter was a joke. That is a great example of exactly what I was talking about. Moss heading into the locker room before onsides kick. Whole bench looked so dejected staring at the scoreboard hoping for teams to loose with 3 min still left in there own game. I cannot put my loot on any team with that look.

My first thought when I saw it was hope they get into playoffs so I can make some easy loot betting against them.

Take care,
Ku

Nicky Deuces,

To answer your question about Seattle's ineptude ats at home this year, It has definitely not been good. But something that is interesting is that the Rams have played 3 of 4 of those teams the half of the season and performed even worse though Rams were on the road.

Dallas....Rams didn't play
Arizona...Seattle won by 3 at home, Rams lost by 24 on the road
Miami...Seattle won by 7 at home, Rams lost by 21 on the road
Buffalo....Seattle blown out at home, Rams blown out on the road

The fact that even with Buffalo a wash, Seattle won both of those two games though at home, while Rams were blown out in both of theirs.

IMO Seattle winning with Rams losing to those teams tells me that really that is quite insignificant. Also, Seattle spreads in those games if I remember correctly were as follows: Arizona -7, Buffalo -7, Miami -10. This Rams game is -4 which tells me that the linesmakers have adjusted the line by 3 points from first meeting when Rams were +7. This may be the lowest line as a favorite that Seattle has had at home this year.

This may or may not answer your question but best I can do to explain Seattle ineptitude at home this year.

Best of luck.

Taking the other slant: Rams have lost five straight on the road, by a combined 164-62, four coming to non-playoff teams, losing by 24 at Arizona, by 20 at Buffalo, by 17 at Miami, and by 13 at Carolina. The Dome team also figures up against the elements. Bottom line - going with Kojak. Bol All.

NickyDeuces,

Best of luck on our play! I hope I did not change your mind though as I don't want you upset if Rams cover but like I said above, I am a diehard Rams fan and simply feel they won't win here. Best of luck.

NickyDeuces,

I saw that they are forecasting snow in Seattle for tomorrow. This would definitely benefit Seahawks as their running game is superior to Rams. Jackson is capable but Martz ego likely would have Rams still throwing to prove they could throw in the snowy conditions. FYI. LOL

Playoffs are all about matchups. New York matches up well against San Diego. Case in point, their win over the Chargers early in the year. I think San Diego will win, but it will be a field goal game.

youthinkyouknow,

Welcome to the forum! In terms of your statement on the Jets-Chargers, I believe this game was a little early in the year to guage matchups as San Diego was not the team they are now. If you have specific information on why you like the Jets and exact reasoning I am always open to listening and discussing but a blanket statement with no fact holds no weight without proof. Best of luck to you.

Colbyson,
Rams win big! Nice statement with no facts! Obviously you have not taken the time to read my thread otherwise you know that I am a Rams fan being unbiased. With all of your responses and as short as they are suggests maybe you are simply trying to make 100 posts for the free contest.

Forget about that. I've been gambling for coming on thirty years. You pay your money, you take your chances. I believe we're on the right side.

NickyDeuces,

No problem! Point I was making is that you should stand by your own convictions. There are times when my selections are not popular and though I see the point of others, I stand by my own play. LOL.

Adding.....

Sd/Jets under 44....A couple of things go into this play. First of all, the most obvious is the weather conditions in San Diego. They have had lots of rain so it should be a sloppy field come tomorrow. Second, Jets gameplan is to try to run and control the clock. Unfortunate for the Jets is the number 1 ranked rushing defense belongs to the Chargers led by DT Jamal Williams. This will be a game of field position with the sloppy field. Pennington will be forced to win it for Jets which in my mind will only force a strong possiblitity for turnovers. This is Brees first playoff game so I expect some jitters there as well. I look for a solid low scoring win for the Chargers in the neighborhood of 27-10. So imo, this total number is about a touchdown off. LOL.

the under looks almost too obvious kojak. im in sd and its a raging storm with torrential rain and incredible winds.this area was hit hard by wildfires last year and now the ground is so saturated and unstable were getting mudslides and power outtages. this storm is expected to be WORSE by gametime. this game will be won on the ground and by 1 big play and a fg maybe but anything beyond 30 yards is in the winds and the way it looks tonight i wouldnt count on any kick making it. count on madden and michaels to whine alot about how old qualcomm stadium is and how its leaking water all over them. it will be. it doesnt rain often here on sundays but when it does it leaks like a siev.anyway trust me when i tell you this storm is a MOTHER!~RG
