Clippers really loading up.

I thought the better Phoenix deal was to Atlanta for Collins as they could have kept Bridges (a very good player) and given up the same package less a #1 pick. I like them bringing back Warren for frontcourt scoring.
Suns got some serious mid-range scoring when you add Warren in there in addition to their starters

Not sure Clippers loading up. They're still a joke it seems

Let me add on that one of the best 5 players in the NBA, Jason Tatum was aquired via the trade when they got a bunch of draft picks. Easy to scoff at picks right now but in a few years after I am banned from here, you will see that I am right

Like when people try to tell me RG3 was better than Andrew Luck and when I told the forum that Kurt Cousins was better than RG3 and will have a better career when they were both picked by the redskins in the same draft. Everyone thought I was crazy.

I could figure out who is good and bad. Yes NFL is easier as I don't think I have ever missed a 1st round qb pick.

Wait until 2026-28 when the Nets have the 1st and 2nd overall picks with a generational talent coming out. NBA is due for one of those once a decade talents.
Isn't a trade like this is what made the Celtics be good again when they traded Garnett and Allen away and got a crap load of picks after they bottomed out for a couple years

hmm, I dunno if I could explain it any clearer

the chances the nets have the #1 pick the year the next LeBron or Durant comes out is umm.....kinda low

They got a decent haul given the situation, but you are kidding yourself if you think they do this deal if Durant says he's cool with staying.

Suns weren't winning shit with their team + John Collins....Durant is a needle mover if he's healthy, as the change in odds reflects

huh

teams make picks all the time that amount to nothing as far as team success goes

it also isn't hard to avoid giving up a top pick if you don't rights to it....nets was a unique situation because prokorhov stopped caring about the team after that trade and they went to shit

This sorta trade is what has led to the celtics being 1 of the best teams in the NBA. Those are unprotected #1's and the Suns may only be good for maybe 1-2 years as Paul and Durant are on their last legs. Even if just a couple of those lottery picks hit, they win big plus since paying them rookie salary, could land a big time free agent and still have that lazy but talented Ben Simmons.
The Celtics are an example of a franchise that was able to hit on their picks, develop well, etc. I think Tatum/Brown were both 3rd picks overall?

Point though is getting those results aren't guaranteed, a lot of misses. Warriors just traded the #2 overall pick for example

eventually 1 of these teams getting all these picks in these deals is gonna come up again.....rockets, thunder, nets, pelicans, jazz

but who knows who it is going to be as luck/circumstance will largely determine that....all you can do is give yourself as many solid bites at the apple as possible

but what your goal is if everything goes right with that is to be a contender.....the suns are contenders right now.....the nets very best case scenario is what the suns already have

2029? will the world even be around by then?

Knicks did nothing
Levine would have been a nice move

Durant is still damaged goods and age is going to be a factor very soon.

Hard to know about injury

With Durant’s ability to shoot I think he will have some value for 3-4 more years as a top-ish tier player

Besides the Suns, did any teams odds change for winning the finals?

Suns should be West favorites kind of by default. KD is a needle mover

Basically a pack of Suns, Warriors, Mavs, Grizzlies

Pels and Wolves are meh, Kings are actually kinda nice on paper but hard to take them seriously since the are the Kings

Nuggets and Clippers are both frauds in the big picture, though Clippers I suppose don't have a good enough record to even be labeled that

Lakers could hang around and at least make the play-in.

Jazz, Blazers, Thunder are the three that probably miss out on the top 10 in the end

They wouldn't be winning without the trade so do it. Durant is talented but is a beta. He would never win big by being the #1 guy.

All I am is saying is this is a 2 year deal for the Suns and then they bottom out so the chances those picks are lottery is big.

There is a lot of blame to go around, but the biggest culprit in this disaster is N.Y. Mayor Adams. His ridiculous mandate caused the breakup of the team. Without the mandate Irving plays, Hardon doesn't get disgruntled, and maybe the team could reach its potential. Don't forget that the mandate ONLY pertained to Nets players. Visiting unvaccinated players from other teams were allowed to play in NY. How does that make sense? It is a real shame because if they had stayed together it could have been a lot of fun to watch.

Liberals should be put in camps and used as slave labor. Why are blacks even allowed in politics? Do they ever have good ideas? Are their cities ever well run? Does crime increase or decrease with them running the show?
