Just based on these players wanting to be the center piece of a team these days. I really don’t think he’s happy playing second fiddle to Tatum, although that’s really what he is. I like him as a player, but he isn’t as good as he thinks. Just my opinion.

Tatum breaking his face last night probably doesn’t help.

he’ll most likely be back and if not it’ll be because Celts got something in return, guys don’t really leave into cap space anymore

doubt he cares about all that other stuff you mentioned either, fans read way too much into that stuff. Celts can pay him 5th yr and far more money.

you had 1 guy on here saying Tatum and brown weren’t gonna try this year because they would be too pissed/devastated about the Udoka situation

I know he can make more money here but he can also play somewhere else where he’s happier.

The Brooklyn Nets turned Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving & James Harden into
Ben Simmons
Dinwiddie
Finney-Smith
Mikal Bridges
Cam Johnson
Jae Crowder
7 first-round picks & a pick swap
2 second-round picks
Nets are the winner here because the Suns may only have at most 2 good seasons left and then will be in the basement again. Those 1sts are unprotected. So the Nets likely could have 8 lottery picks plus their own plus a ton of cap room.

lol Nets would’ve never done that deal if Durant didn’t want out

good chance some of us itt are dead before nets are relevant again

Picks aren’t as valuable as in the nfl, good luck figuring out which 19 year old is going to blossom

Great trade for Suns.

I say fuck the picks also when you can acquire someone who is this level. No brainer. I suppose a little on the older side as any sort of negative but Suns are built to win now. You can't pass this kind of opportunity up.

Chris Paul and Durant are at the tail ends of their career and those picks are for the rest of the decade. Very likely the Suns suck for 3-5 years. If Ben Simmons can be a grown up and just a couple of those lottery picks hit big, they could be something in 5 years and you would be paying them in their rookie contracts so could land a big time free agent star.

The celtics did a deal like this and it led to them being one of the top teams in the NBA and young

Did not see hawks play into it. Thanks. Five 2nd round picks for Wiseman, damn. You know warriors won’t miss with all of those

This sorta trade is what has led to the celtics being 1 of the best teams in the NBA. Those are unprotected #1's and the Suns may only be good for maybe 1-2 years as Paul and Durant are on their last legs. Even if just a couple of those lottery picks hit, they win big plus since paying them rookie salary, could land a big time free agent and still have that lazy but talented Ben Simmons.

if this, if that, ben simmons maybe kinda sorta (lol he sucks)

the most likely result is they won't be relevant for awhile....Even if the Suns "suck" in 3-5 years (this is presumptuous to say the least), you got a 14% chance to get the 1st pick. Then that guy has to pan out, then you gotta pay him in 3 years. The Rockets also have a ton of their picks so tanking themselves is pointless.

it takes a lot to go right

hornets got a lot for AD and hit the zion lotto, they've won 2 playoff games in 3 years and don't look likely to win too many more this year at the moment, list goes on.....Houston got a massive haul for Harden, OKC for Russ/PG....These teams have some nice young pieces but if you put a gun to anyone reading this right now they would take the Suns to play in the finals/win the title in the next 3 years over the Nets in the next 10.

TWolves have had the #1 pick 3 times in the last 9 years, they've won 3 playoff games.

I didn't realize the point of pro basketball was to accumulate a stash of draft picks and never win shit

Sam Presti is obviously the greatest GM ever

Daily debate on the radio here

They at least admitted he was never going to work here. They were going to have to pay him to be a bench warmer soon

If Warriors did only get picks though, then have to imagine they are going to try something in the next half hour

That or they are just salary-dumping so they can pay others in the offseason

The Rockets are acquiring John Wall as part of a three-team deal. The Clippers are sending Luke Kennard to the Grizzlies, and the Clippers are getting Eric Gordon, Danny Green and three second-round picks, sources told

I could figure out who is good and bad. Yes NFL is easier as I don't think I have ever missed a 1st round qb pick.

Wait until 2026-28 when the Nets have the 1st and 2nd overall picks with a generational talent coming out. NBA is due for one of those once a decade talents.
Isn't a trade like this is what made the Celtics be good again when they traded Garnett and Allen away and got a crap load of picks after they bottomed out for a couple years

Clippers really loading up.

I thought the better Phoenix deal was to Atlanta for Collins as they could have kept Bridges (a very good player) and given up the same package less a #1 pick. I like them bringing back Warren for frontcourt scoring.
