Bought our homes around the same time. Grew and got to know each other. As with most America we've got a little bit of every thing peppered in our neighborhood. Now lets dive a little deeper. Say were hanging in one of each other garage. or sharing wine amongst amongst couples. Maybe a certain type of people aren't around. Then eventually one of the neighbors would loosen up. "Hey man. How do you feel about so and so down the street? Ever talk to them? How do they afford it here? I reply, "oh they're engineers I think at Oracle. Met the husband a few months back" Then you get to talking some more. "Those fuckers are bringing down our property value dontcha think? With all their stupid parties. They better not ask me for help. Then the wife chimes in, "And they better not think our kids are gonna play together. You never know what they have. (nervous chuckle too see if we'd bite) I give a slight nod never answering. TBH I'm actualy suprised these people just come out firing especialy since we just met them that night. He gets more loose since the wine is kicking in and a few laughs are shared. "you know man. I bet i'm wasting every fuckin tax dollar on that family right there. I just know it" I reply, "Damn man, you really think so? Every single hard earned cent ey?" He comes back, "You know what I mean bro. I mean the government will find some way to spend it to waste". "no arguement there" I reply. then the comeback, "You'd think with all the damn help they're getting the kids maybe could learn english. (then the loud belly laugh. looking around for acceptence) Then I come back, "Damn I would hope so. Their kids were born here. Shit, what are they 10 and 11 now?. Then I'll throw back how we got a kick ass school district as a reminder. "Thats why we all bought here right?" At this point my wife and I were getting tired of his shit. Then one more attempt to see if we're on the same page, "Well you would hope so. They probably don't speak english at home so it doesn't help " Then my wife and I both come back, "How do you even know, you don't even live on their street?" (now she and I are belly laughing). Clearly they didn't like that one. So I try to switch it up so the whole conversation isn't talking shit about certain neighbors they don't even know. "Hey so how much did you get your house for?" He comes back, "We got a decent price. We put almost 70% down so our loan wasn't as big" I reply, "Nice. Sell your last house for the down?" He comes back, "No, my wife got an nice inheritance" Giving me a look like I'm supposed to be impressed. "Ahhh... way to luck out huh? At least thats one way to make it into our neighborhood" I reply.
So that was a summary of a hangout one night 3 years ago after Trump was elected. Of course the MAGA couple spoke openly since they felt, hey, were all white in this house, non of the brown or yellow neighbors are here. Assuming we're all of like minded ideologies. Fuck no we're not cut from the same cloth. Needless to say we don't see em much around. Hell shoul'dve told em, illegals were better welcome here than metthedout, do nothing homeless. They probalby would've split a vien or two.
