Lets see where the chips fall at seasons end. Please remmebr it is Kyle Orton. Please.

The defense has been the difference here so far. Very surprised at how well they have played...then again they did a complete overhaul.

Well, that and an OPOW performance from the guy that McDaniels traded the "franchise QB" for.

:toast:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton will be named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for games played during the fifth week (Oct. 11-12) of the 2009 season, the National Football League informed the Broncos on Tuesday.
Orton's selection as his conference's Player of the Week is the first such award of his five-year NFL career.
The quarterback was recognized by the NFL after completing 35-of-48 (72.9%) passes for 330 yards with two touchdowns and one interception (Hail Mary pass attempt) for a 96.7 rating in Denver's 20-17 overtime win against New England on Sunday. He led two touchdown drives of at least 10 plays and 90 yards against the Patriots, including a 12-play, 98-yard drive late in the fourth quarter that tied the game and eventually forced overtime.
Orton's 35 completions were a career high and tied for the third-highest single-game total in the NFL this year. His 72.9 completion percentage also was a personal best and marked the second-highest game total in Broncos history among players with at least 45 pass attempts.
A former standout at Purdue University, Orton is the Broncos' 44th AFC Offensive Player of the Week winner since the award was initiated by the NFL in 1984.
LOL YES. I think McDaniels is a hungry young coach and I am impressed so far. He is still an arrogant prick punk though too.
He is also a better and smarter head coach than Norv turner through 6 weeks of his first year. Turner continues to amaze me year after year with his stupidity.
I totally failed to realize how Denver flipped their defense. Looking at that roster a week or so ago, they really added a lot. Brian Dawkins is a stud. Thats a totally different defense than last year. Very impressed.
As for the O, Orton has done what McDaniels has asked which is manage the game and take whats there and dont make mistakes. I am astonished as to how teams have not pressured the shit out of him yet. SD tonight on many 3rd downs rushed 3 guys and Orton picked em apart. THey got no pressure at all on him. Quite a few times I noticed a lot of holding on pass plays too that wasnt called but I know Denvers O-line is good.
Yes, Denver will win this shitty division. SD is a mess right now on defense and they really need a new coach to win a Superbowl.
After watching Orton play & seeing what Cutler did last night now I totally understand why McDaniels wanted a QB who could run his boring safe system. Not sure this was a great move long term wise but I guess time will tell 7-8 years down the road.
THis is one recipe for success though in the NFL.......If you arent that good or lack special players, all you need to do is have a QB that manages the game and doesnt turn the ball over, have solid RB's, and a really good defense. Ravens won a Superbowl doing it with Dilfer and this Broncos team was more weapons on offense than they did.
PS --He's still a young cocky arrogant hoody wearing wannabe punk!
(Maybe he will grow up in a few years.)
I'd also like to add that theyve been extrmely lucky this season too with things all going their way. If luck is when preperation and opportunity meet then ok, but if it is not, then............................................it will run out soon.
i would like to know who you qualify as somebody good.
Baltimore.....Denver is as lucky as it gets.
Cincy sucks
Dallas sucks
NE sucks
SD sucks
But Balty is really super good bro!
Now that Denver has to go on the road (early start) against a team that is coming off of their bye week.................I'm predicting that Denver loses 58-2. (Flacco takes a late safety while trying to burn some clock & not run up the score)
I want everyone to remember that "Denver sucks" and they "haven't beaten anybody" and "Orton can't win".
You see, I like to bet on the Broncos getting points from an inferior team coached by a lifetime loser. Thank you very much.
Now you see why Denver will not go anywhere in the playoffs. orton cannot bring them back once they are down. He has no deep ball and cannot stretch the field because he cant throw it long. The dink and dunk crap works as long as they are winning vs shoddy defenses. Against good defenses Orton and this team are not going to do anything.
My point through all of this is.................
Just imagaine if Cutler were running this juggernaut of an offense. With the threat of the deep ball and two stud WR's , the run game wouldve benn opened up tremendously for CBuck and Moreno.
That same offense from last year coupled with the newly revamped & talented defense wouldve made them a very serious Super Bowl Contender.
Now, they are only 1 game up on San Diego and can quite possibly drop their next three games for five losses in a row.
All teams have to do is blitz and pressure Orton and he will do what he did tonight & vs Baltimore.
No idea why the idiot Norv Turner rushed 3 guys all game while Orton picked them apart with the dink and dunk.
I don't know what everyone's problem is with Orton. There are 11 guys on the field wearing a different colored uniform, and he is always adept at getting the ball to one of them.
