u obviously havent read my post accurately ...just like the media
so because he died we have to inaccurately give a false opinion of the man n the facts??
my statement earlier was Wooden deserves all the kudos n accolades he has earned ...
however, if we are to regard him in such high esteem since he has set the bar for college athletics , should we not also examine the man's flaws ? This point is very legitimate ....if wooden did know cheating was involved , why didn't he stop it ?? if he couldnt have stopped it , Did he want to WIN so Bad at The Cost of His Morals That He Himself set N preached ??? How The FVck Is Not Relevant to his legacy n history ? This isnt about being classless ...its about being FAIR !

kimchee, say what you want about Wooden but other coaches did much worse yet didn't have the 10 national championships. If he wasn't a great coach he wouldn't have strung these together like he did even with the things you allege.

Got to meet Coach Wooden on several occasions when playing at U of A and he was a very nice man. If Lute Olsen considered him a role model and one of the best men he ever met that was good enough for me.

My 2 favorite college basketball coaches of all time: Wooden and Lute.

i'll say this. wooden wouldn't have won as many championships if the ncaa tournament had been 64 teams while he was coaching. when he was in there, what was it, a 16 game tournament?

absolutely agree with ya...
back then...talent was not spread out and it was only a 16 team tourney..
one thing i know for sure..if wooden kept turnin a blind eye in this age , half his championships wouldve been nullified or uclawould be on probation..we'l have to ask my good friend pete carrol how its done in the modern age , but he's hangin out in rainy seattle
