However, you are totally wrong about the right to vote. The Republicans approved the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by a wider margin than the Democrats did.

This is simply another example of how the Democratic Party and their enablers in the media rewrite history. Since LBJ was President, the Democrats get credit and somehow the party that was more supportive of the legislation is now being viewed as being the opposition to the bill. LBJ's only real opposition came from within his own party, and he had to talk many of them into supporting the bill.
