Further proof that Jeb’s dead.

Jeb Bush's support among Republicans nationally has plummeted to the low single digits in the latest Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday, as the former Florida governor's campaign seeks to hit refresh with its "Jeb Can Fix It" tour.

Donald Trump and Ben Carson, meanwhile, continued to lead the field, with Carson outperforming Hillary Clinton in a hypothetical general-election matchup.

In the latest poll, conducted after last week's third GOP debate in which Bush delivered a mediocre performance, just 4 percent of Republican and independent Republican-leaning voters said they would support Bush in their state's primary. In the September survey, Bush earned 10 percent, trailing Trump, Carson and Carly Fiorina. And in terms of favorability, no one polled lower than Bush, at a net-negative of 33 points. Just 25 percent of all registered voters surveyed said they had a positive opinion of him, while 58 percent said they had a negative one.

Republican Jeb Bush survives debate with steady performance

A steadfast performance by Jeb Bush in Tuesday's Republican debate has halted the sense of desperation around his U.S. presidential campaign and may buy him time to counter the rise of chief rival Marco Rubio.

The fourth Republican debate in the search for a 2016 presidential nominee was characterized by a steady stream of attacks against front-runner Donald Trump and mistake-free performances by Rubio of Florida and Ted Cruz of Texas, two up-and-coming U.S. senators in the race.

But the most relieved candidate after the two-hour encounter inside the Milwaukee Theatre was Bush, the former Florida governor who was outclassed in the three previous debates and has suffered an erosion of support from Republican voters and a drop-off in financial donations.

Trump, a billionaire businessman who has led opinion polls in the Republican race for months, gave Bush an opening when he said it was okay with him if Russian President Vladimir Putin "wants to go and knock the hell out of ISIS" in Syria and Iraq, a reference to Islamic State militants in the two Middle East countries.

Bush, who mostly steered clear of attacking his rivals after previous attempts had fallen flat, quickly interjected.

"We’re not going to be the world’s policemen, but we sure as heck better be the world’s leader," Bush said, saying Trump's views of Putin and his policies in Syria were "like a board game. That’s like playing Monopoly or something. That’s not how the real world works."

That Bush was able to stop the bleeding may give him time to regain his footing in the unpredictable Republican race with the next debate more than a month away, on Dec. 15 in Las Vegas. Bush is campaigning on Wednesday in Iowa, which on Feb. 1 holds the first nominating contest of the November 2016 election.

“Jeb Bush was much improved. At a minimum, this buys him more time to reset and try to advance,” said Fergus Cullen, a former chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party.

Bush officials, including finance chief Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets, offered an upbeat message in a conference call to donors immediately after the debate.

"This is a performance you can sell and help keep the fundraising going," Heather Larrison, a top aide to Bush’s campaign, told the donors, according to one participant on the call.

It is a critical time in the race for the Republican nomination, with retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Trump fighting to hold their spots atop polls and Rubio trying to build on the momentum of his last strong debate performance.

Rubio, 44, who is competing with Bush, 62, for establishment Republican votes, found himself under fire from fellow Senator Rand Paul for promoting what Paul called a $1 trillion increase in military spending.

"Marco, how is it conservative to add $1 trillion in expenditures to the federal government?" Paul said.

What exactly does Mitt Romney and John McCain have that Jeb Bush doesn't?

they can't speak Spanish

they weren't a successful Governor in one of the most important swing states

their name is not Bush

otherwise, they're a lot a like I suppose

although they won't be running against a mythical messiah like McCain or "what difference does everything gone wrong make" teflon tool

Spoken like a true campaign commercial. I don’t know if it’s running nationally but I see it at least a dozen times a day here in Nevada.

I’ll bet he wet himself on stage when he saw the opening.

MILWAUKEE — As if Jeb Bush’s campaign were not already finished, the candidate drilled several additional screws into his own coffin during Tuesday night’s debate here.

“Even having this conversation sends a powerful signal,” he whined as real estate mogul and presidential front-runner Donald Trump tangled with the Democratic wing of the Republican Party over the insanity of allowing 12 million illegal aliens to roam free in America without the slightest concern that our country’s laws might just apply to them.

Outside the debate hall, protesters beat drums and screamed for amnesty. One man with a bullhorn kept repeating over and over again that justice is not possible in America. And every third time or so he accused Mr. Trump of being a “racist” for vowing to enforce America’s immigration laws. No word on whether he was a plant, paid for by the Bush campaign.

On stage inside the debate hall, Mr. Trump stuck to his guns and said that immigration laws passed by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and approved by presidents from both parties should simply be enforced. That is all he is saying.

Yet Mr. Bush not only thinks these laws should be summarily dismissed, he said during the debate that even

Yet Mr. Bush not only thinks these laws should be summarily dismissed, he said during the debate that even having a discussion about enforcing our immigration laws is a terrible thing. We should dismiss these laws and there should not even be a debate about it.

“They’re doing high-fives in the Clinton campaign right now when they hear this,” Mr. Bush said.

Wow. Truly astonishing. Not only does Mr. Bush not belong in the White House or the Republican Party, he should just be deported. Perhaps to Mexico, where he might be happier and find greater success in politics.

Astonishingly, Mr. Bush was not alone on the Republican stage. “Think about the families!” cried Ohio Gov. John Kasich. “C’mon, folks!”

These people really have no clue how desperately frustrated and estranged American voters in both parties are over this issue of rampant illegal immigration and Washington’s absolute refusal to take simple, common sense measures to fix the problem.

John Kasich should be deported right behind Jeb Bush.

Luckily, the remaining serious contenders on the stage — and even the less-serious contenders on the earlier debate stage — do not share Mr. Bush’s and Mr. Kasich’s reckless and lawless plot to eviscerate American sovereignty by granting amnesty to millions of illegals in America.

“If Republicans join Democrats as the party of amnesty, we will lose,” Sen. Ted Cruz countered during the debate. “It is not compassionate to say we’re not going to enforce the laws, and we’re going to drive down the wages for millions of hardworking men and women.”

Maybe think about THOSE families.
