Last 2 pk takers, defenders?....silly Moyes

fuck him. hate him. pinned back for an hour at old trafford by, ahemm, sunderland?!?! leave valencia out of the 5 penalty takers but use rafael?

hell at least sunderland will give city a better game than united

and as Moyes doesn't manage Necaxa...gives me half a fn chance tonight

he couldn't recover from his left leg cramping after the goal so phil jones took his spot with fresh legs. i didn't have a big issue with that one....it was allowing a fucking right back on 120' legs to take a penalty over valencia who had only played an hour or a veteran like evra who only played 35 minutes and has appeared in pen shootouts before

i did read that moyes, in his press conference, said both valencia and evra (who has worn the captain's band many times) both declined to take penalties but i didn't see the press conference and, as much as i hate the fucker, i have a hard time thinking he would publicize that information. if true, evra should be sold this month and hand the job to Buttner

i assumed it was going to be fletcher, welbeck, evra, valencia, and januzaj and when chicharito went down i assumed it would be jones in for him. seeing rafael step up was quite a shock

I was very surprised to hear Valencia and Evra declined. Seems very odd? Do you think there is any hope for a successful Moyes led United campaign next season?

no hope from my end but clearly the owners have faith in him if they're giving him money to spend this month to rescue a disaster of a season. Moyes is simply the wrong guy for this level of a club. His training methods are antiquated and are suited for that middle tier EPL club trying to get a top 5-7 spot and I believe the amount of leg and muscle injuries shows this really well. RVP might have been known for injuries but the fact was he was injury-free for 2 years under Sir Alex who knows how to train elite athletes.

the scary part for me is Moyes' incompetence with regards to understanding talent. We overpaid for sideshow Bob who has been a clown in defensive midfield and never even went after Seamus Coleman or Ross Barkley? These kids were managed by Moyes for years and he didn't think they were United quality, but thought Fellaini was our answer? Fact is we already have a world-class defensive midfielder in Carrick and have other options there (Anderson before sold, shitty Cleverley, Phil Jones) so we didn't need a holding mid, especially not for $35M. We desperately need a right back and Seamus Coleman, without Moyes, has become the best right back in the Premier League while Barkley might be the best young talented mf in England. Him not going after either of those guys tells me he had no idea how good they really were. That's ridiculous when you consider Coleman has been there for 5 years and freaking Barkley joined Everton when he was 11 years old!

The guy is a complete disaster of a coach and United are hopeless as long as he's in charge. Only prayer for next year is to snag 4th place to assure the champions league money in 2014/15 otherwise we might have to fire sale all these guys....and go through a decade of 5th-8th placed finishes

great post, to call Fellaini a disappointment is an understatement and he is the only addition?

great call on cartagines tide. I wish all games could be that easy. Get out to the early lead, second half goal for insurance, never threatened.

for those with continued interest in chase systems all the ones i offered up in late fall closed after both Freiburg and Cardiff got their HT leads. I'd start on three more....Fleetwood Town away draw in England (start that 1/25), Atlante to lead at HT in Mexico (start that tonight), Nurnberg to win in Germany (start that 1/25). I would start Atlante with very small stakes....

if you guys have been following these another pair closed out this weekend as Atlante just won first half at +225 odds vs Chivas and Nurnberg beat Hoffenheim at +150 yesterday to get their first win of the season. Fleetwood Town won their match so their away draw moves onto a 2nd attempt tomorrow at Scunthorpe, Jan 27.

a few others to consider:
England Conference ... Alfreton away draw beginning Feb 8
England One ...Port Vale away draw beginning on Feb 1
Scotland Premier .... St Mirren away draw starting this Wed, Jan 29

if you prefer to skip one of those 3 I'd drop Alfreton but I think you're pretty safe with both St Mirr and Port Vale away draw chases starting this week and continuing the Fleetwood one on Monday

Jong Ajax/OSS over 3 goals .60u to win .52u

- two of the three worst defenses in the league and at least Ajax with a lot of attacking potential. Both have their matches avg well over 3 gpg
