All had elite defense

Even Stafford had a good defense
You can definitely win with a QB who isn't elite but you need at least a good defense and probably a pretty good run game if you defense isn't elite or all time great

Good not elite
But it is tough to have a really good D and run game when you pay a QB shit tons of money
Hostetler, Johnson and Dilfer didn't get that money
Partly why they were in good shape

The worse the QB the more elite your run and defense has to be
Brady and Mahomes can win with less
Not many Qbs can do that
