Yeah that’s a bit hokey, just periodic double picks weeks would be better.

That big a field you gotta purge eventually somehow though. Otherwise you’re gonna get a 200 way tie

Thanksgiving day

Bills v lions
Giants vs cowboys
pats vs vikings

Xmas day

pack vs fins
broncos vs rams
bucs vs cards

Do you already tell yourself NOT to use 1 of these teams both days or do you keep a separate lists knowing not to use all 6 for if you are still alive that week?

I am a major sucker for survivor pools. Would love to do this but dont want to spend a grand. Would love to do 99's pool but didnt want to spend $500

Always wanted to do the hilton/circa pick 5 NFL contest with a team as i dont want to spend the $$

I guess you have to hold back on playing Buffalo all season b/c of Thanksgiving Day?

Any xmas day strategy yet or lets just wait and see how this goes?
Maybe, Minny on Thxgiving night is a possibility also. I eliminated Denver for Xmas. Didn't see how that would be a play at this point.

I don't see it going 18 weeks this year. No layups this year. Bad teams aren't nearly as bad as past bad teams.. couple years ago Circa ended up in a 17 way tie I believe. Friend of mine got a piece of that. Pool wasn't as big , but he made up for it some by hedging last game

Probably should keep my mouth shut with strategy here. Alot of folks outside of our usual posters like to take a peak in here at times.

I want to say that last year was the first year for Circa as they had a huge overlay.

I know the trick last year was Thanksgiving was a special week and if you used the chiefs or bucs in week 17, you would get an extra million

I could be wrong here as i am going just off memory

I don't like putting it all on the QB.. doubt Herbert is anywhere close to the reason why the team is under .500 so far.
oh no. Not all on QB. He's been awesome with awesome weapons as well.

Just weird how he's lost more than won. Wacky team, wacky coaching and NO homefield advantage.

As you stated earlier, this week is 1 of the rare weeks where they actually MAY have home field advantage with their crowd

3rd year for Survivor . I met up with my buddy in Vegas in January while he was waiting for his check. And that wasn't this past January. I had him bet Matsuyama 53/1 for the Masters , so picked up that ticket from him on the same trip.

gotcha

I just couldnt remember if they started it in 2020 during the pandemic when less people were traveling to vegas to sign up

Good luck this season. Luckily my pool is a 2 strike league as i lost in week 1

Of course I mean just playoffs. That's all that matters.

How do I now about Herbert? Haven't seen him in the playoffs. I can tell you I'd take Herbert over Jackson in the playoffs because he's a natural drop back pocket passer and wants to pass first.
So you have no clue about Herbert, but would still take him?

I don't see the logic here

Come on dude. We all know that you called Lamar Jackson a running back in the day, and he basically made you eat your words by winning the MVP and made you disappear for you

Lamar is a top tier quarterback. He is also one of the best deep ball throwers in the league -- a skill that is growing in value in today's NFL. You can obviously win a Super Bowl with him. If not, then you basically can eliminate about 80% of the starting QB's in the league

Lamar reminds of the QB who looks like an ALL STAR when playing with the lead but when behind, is just very average.

He has looked HORRIBLE in his playoff losses.

You need Lamar to win a playoff game where he is losing by double digits to have him validated

Just my .02
I think they have struggled coming from behind as a run-first offense

But he has come from behind in big spots before, including last year when they came back on the Chiefs -- think it was like 23-6? So not like he has never done it before

That seems like a pretty nit-picky criteria to me, though it will probably happen eventually

I'd doubt you would have 1 GM in this league that would take Lamar over Herbert. Outside of the Ravens , who would never admit that.
