Forget the win loss record. Everyone should be handicapping their own games and using whatever info they can. If you use Harry's information and get burned because that's all you use...you deserve to lose money. These threads should be used as just another tool to evaluate your cap on games vs other peoples reads. No one else comes close to providing information that Harry does with power rankings and adjusted values....most people have to pay for that or do it themselves. It sounds like the people who want a win loss record want a quick way to just tail someone. I learned a very expensive lesson doing that last season. Agree or disagree with his reads just use his info as a tool. I'd say if the sample size of his picks are all your using to judge the value of the information that's foolish. I'd look at the jj bascus ratings across the board to fully evaluate it...which is pretty good.

I think there's practical utility in having an accurate W-L record posted in order to gauge the efficacy of these JJ BASCUS POWER RANKINGS. It's no secret Harry is making his selections based in part or in whole using these rankings and other variables culled from "the crew." Whether it's his straight bets, conditional press bets, or exotic reverse bets.

The fact is there may be members here at the Rx who will want to blindly tail Harry and his plays. I agree with you that this strategy is foolhardy, and they should handicap there own games utilizing a myriad of available informational sources. However, if they choose to tail Harry blindly, they should be apprised with an accurate accounting of how the process (JJ BASCUS POWER RANKINGS, etc.) he uses does. I don't think it's unreasonable to see W-L results posted each week.

I posted Harry's results for Week 4 upstream, so everyone can see how this system fared this past Sunday. I'm more than happy to post each week's results, and others are invited to help.

Incubus - I don't necessarily disagree with you but this forum is for discussion not for tracking. He's clearly not going to post, if you have the time to track by all means that's your prerogative. This however should not be used to attack or discredit Harry and the information he posts. We should all be respectful of him and if should just be another piece of information available. Nothing more nothing less.

Hi Everyone Had to mention my 2cents again, hope in doesn't irritate anyone

but Just in case you did not know, Bob Martin was truly the King, the guru of NFL handicapping and the most amazing line maker for all Books and casinos in Nevada and across the US. No embellishment here, He was the original expert of diagnosing NFL football games and hanging those famous "curve lines" out from the plaza. He's practically a legend in that regard.

Harry the Hat, an expert and professional himself, was a colleague of Bob's and most likely has forgotten more than most will know in a lifetime.

Hoping that will help you understand why Harry and his associates with all that experience and their knowledge, (along with the karma that flows) are so successful and profitable making a living at NFL Handicapping.

I would say we are very fortunate that he takes time to bother with us and share his insights. I would hope you would ask him questions about the strategy he uses and how to be a better and smarter player rather than knock him.

ps: to Harry
Harry don't waste your time answering negative stuff just carry on like you did before and thanks again for all your time and effort in doing so for the forum it is greatly appreciated.
(that selection on KC against Denver was a great pick and as tough and upsetting a loss to start a year as anyone could have, I surely had empathy with you on that early handicapped pick esp going contrary to your colleagues that night.

How would we know without the benefit of a documented W-L record? :think2: No being flip. Serious question.

All other notable successful handicappers here at the Rx post their W-L records for all to see and gauge their success and/or failure.

Incubus question

If a man eats shit for dinner are you going to follow and eat same for breakfast, he's giving you his thoughts that's it

If he was a colleague of Bob Martin and he was the same age as him Harry would be 96. Do the math. This guy ain't real.

How many 96 year old people do you know posting up on the internet. Get real. At 96 Harry's mind would be foggy at best.

Is Mr Harry the Hat the same poster that used to post here under the handle "Fat Harry" ? I never put the connection together before but there usec to be a poster called Fat Harry that talked about Bob Martin.

Fat Harry had quite a year in the tracker forum a few years ago in baseball , but he was playing large chalk on the alt run line laying crazy high juice , but i think he was tracked at something like + 40k. .... but he also had a big conflict with former moderator old man ted.

Not sure if they are the same , but both used the name Harry and both praised Bob Martin ???

Here's an idea, how about if you are so concerned about his record start "YOUR" own thread. This is ridiculous when you come into "HARRY'S" thread to see what he has posted you have to wade through others who have hi-jacked "HARRY'S" thread.

Harry please keep posting the ratings as you have done in the past and ignore the posters with another agenda. Thanks for what you do.

Bob Martin, who died of cancerat 82 in New York, The funeral service in Las Vegas, where he was the legend of ''the line,'' the sports betting line, especially on pro football. Martin's on-the-money betting lines ushered in the city's golden age of sports betting in the 1970s and made him the top oddsmaker in America for 20 years. J.J. Smitty and myself attend his funeral service in Las Vegas.
J.J.Bascus & System Smitty Ryan and my self studied under Bob Martins System in The 70s.[ Vegas] So you are call me a liar? some you members out there on replys I have been reading?, I am not know as Fat Harry or any other name on a reply. I have to say this as old country gentlemen Gambler that is handicapper, and also speaking for crew that some of you guys on this forum are writing a book about me and not spending enough time analyzing your own games for wagers. Sharing information on the games, I thought was all about this forum, maybe I was wrong? not degrading members personally or on a win/loss on your present record. 1st of all yes we are on bad streak with our picks, we have won some money line bets that overcome some of our loses. We have losing streaks before and winning streaks too. Its long season and we are only in 5 Th week and we will adjust because we have lot years experience as a crew. We are looking at the big picture[ end of the Season] and trying to tripling our bank roll, that whats it all about for crew, not week to week summary on our record. As far J.J. Bascus power rating is information we as crew have been using his the rating for over 10 years. Like I said its tool for us and you want use it fine, if not? I really don't give a rats azz. There some people on this forum respect what I,am posting the rating and using it as tool.. The picks he uses in the forum is for us. I do post them also, that again is your call!!!

Most people don't hang with people that are 20 years older. There is nothing in common.
