Of course debates matter, to suggest otherwise is rather naive. There's another debate, there are conventions, there's the campaign trail, there are advertisements and endorsements, they all matter.
The candidates are trying to win the middle, not the extremes. Debates don't matter to people who don't care about policy or success. Nothing matters to fanatics on either side. Nothing matters to those who vote for a living, they still think some politician is going to save them despite decades of broken policies.
But the first debate showed us how cognitively challenged Slow Joe is and Trump isn't the antichrist, much to the dismay of Libtard Nation.
