Is he as good, no. Are the Skins damn lucky to have him to backup RG3...Hell yes. Very few teams have a backup that can come in and perform like a starter. He could start in the NFL for several teams. I think that if ... and its a big if ... RG can stay healthy ~ he can be one of the best QB's in the NFL. Montana type skills...

Uh, no.

The Washington Redskins had resisted benching quarterback Robert Griffin III all season, regardless of the circumstance.
But, with Washington trailing 45-10 in the fourth quarter to the Chiefs, it was finally time.
Kirk Cousins relieved Griffin, who was 12-of-26 for 164 yards, one touchdown and one interception. It's not that unusual to see a quarterback get pulled when their team is down 35 points, but it's the first time a healthy Griffin has been pulled all season. The only other time Cousins had gotten into the game was at Denver, after Griffin suffered a minor knee injury in the fourth quarter.
Griffin didn't play great on Sunday, and he hasn't played all that well the entire season. It's hard to imagine his benching will last past the Chiefs game. But with everything going wrong for the Redskins on Sunday, it didn't make any sense to keep him in.

As a life long die-hard skins fan who watches every one of their games, I will say that RGIII before he injured his knee had one of if not the greatest season a RC QB has ever had in the NFL. A 102 qb rating just behind Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers, 20 tds, 5ints... over 800 yards rushing another 7 tds rushing. No way Kirk Cousins is as good as a healthy RGIII.

Speaking of Iverson...if you have never seen his football highlights, do yourself a favor and watch them. He was one of the top quarterbacks in the country in high school. Some say he was the "greatest I ever seen"...

Iverson was probably much more highly recruited for football than either RG3 or Cousins. Iverson was voted the best highschool football player in Virginia in his Junior year, thats incredible. Because of the arrest he did not play for Bethel his Senior year. For sure he would have been a 5-star recruit. I din't know what Cousins was but RG3 was only a 3 or 4 star recruit depending on the the Service.

Iverson as you say may have been one of the greatest QB's in High School Football History. His highlight films were even better than Johnny Football's.

From the small sample we have seen from Cousins so far no. But that is not to say that given a chance he couldn't come into his own and be a decent QB ya just never know. As for now he seems more like a solid backup QB. But RG3 seems to have gone backyards some he has tons of athleticism but as to how great a QB he will end up being down road to still up in the air.

Yes, but he went backwards after one of the best rookie seasons ever. He then had no offseason and didn't really get to work on his game. I can't believe how many people are acting like his career is over after 2 years. Aaron Rodgers didn't even play his first 2 years. Overreaction theatre

NFL Rumors: Browns Could Pull Off Draft-Day Trade For Kirk Cousins <!-- Post Meta --> Published by Sam Spiegelman

The question of who will start under center for the Cleveland Browns just got a little more interesting.
It’s long been suspected the Browns will draft a quarterback in May’s NFL Draft. The team has been working out Johnny Manziel and reportedly loves Derek Carr, either of whom could be possibilities for the team in the first or second round.
But perhaps the draft will give the Browns a chance to nab a veteran instead.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns’ 10 draft picks put the team is a strong position to assemble a trade package for Washington Redskins backup signal-caller Kirk Cousins. The Browns have long been linked to Cousins because first-year offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan was in Washington when the team drafted Cousins in the 2012 draft.
Per Kabot:
With 10 picks in this draft, anything is possible. The Browns might package picks to move up, they might trade back, they might trade some for picks next year and they might borrow from next year to take a player this year. It’s all on the table and it should be an exciting three days. It might even include trade discussions for Washington backup Kirk Cousins.
Cousins reportedly demanded a trade back in February when Jay Gruden replaced Mike Shanahan as head coach then anointed Robert Griffin III his starting quarterback. Since them, the Cousins front has been awfully quiet, with the Browns remaining the most likely landing spot throughout the process. Cousins is a former fourth-round pick, so it was assumed he could be acquired for something in that area, though Shanahan once said he was worth a first-rounder.
Cleveland has been identified as one of the teams most likely to pull off a draft-day trade leading up to May. In addition to the fourth overall pick, the Browns hold the 26th, 35th, 71st, and 83rd selections.
Trading for Cousins, in theory, might not preclude the Browns from drafting a quarterback in the middle to late rounds of the draft. It would seemingly take the team out of the race for Manziel, Carr, or Blake Bortles, but might open the door for the team to take an A.J. McCarron, a Tom Savage, or Jimmy Garappolo later on. Neither Cousins or current projected starter Brian Hoyer boasts too much starting experience, so a rookie could be a long-term solution or even a fallback option.

Man I wish I was posting on this forum when this thread started. Not saying KC is better, but i've made a few posts on here about RGIII and a whole lot on another forum I used to post on that starts with a "c". My stance on RG has always been that he's a crutch qb who needs his legs to succeed. He came in with a spark because the Redskins ran an offense that wasn't typical. He might throw the pretties deep ball in the league, but once adjustments occur those windows are no longer going to be quite as open. Von Miller said it best when he said "he ain't built for this league". I've never seen anyone go flying look like a rag doll repeatedly when getting hit. Has nothing to do with skin tone as one poster alluded to on here. Cam Newton was a better prospect coming out of Auburn. It was a huge misconception of his that he was a run-first qb who didn't make pro-style throws at Auburn and he has the body to absorb the punishment when he runs.

When this thread was started, RGIII was coming off an awesome rookie year and your assertion KC was better was asinine. Who cares what Joe Theisman says? Got his leg broke and quite the game.

So yes, Joe Theisman's leg break has something to do with Kirk Cousins and RG 42. He sucks and you will never admit it. He did not have near as great of year as people think and with a typical black qb, once they realize their tendancies, game over. Then they get frustrated, blame others, get sensitive, act out, etc.
