Thanks Varkeyboy and ballitup,

The WNBA season was weird due to the Olympic break. Liz Cambage never did come from Australia to play. Also, New York and Tulsa have gone the whole year without playing each other.........and now they face each other twice to end the season.

Too bad that many books pass on lines for these games. Pinnacle and bet365 do have them. Olympic and 5Dimes carry some games too.

Iran vs. Uzbekistan
2012 Asia Cup in Tokyo
10:30pm (Thursday)
pick: Uzbekistan +39.5

Iran finished 4-0 in their group and won their games by 12, 10, 8 and 6 points. They did enough to win. India finished last in the group at 0-4 and the margin was 12 points in that game. Iran has talent but is missing Haddid, who has played some in the NBA.

This game is the quarterfinals of the Asia Cup and only available at some books like Pinnacle and bet365. The winner moves on to play again on Friday so I don't expect Iran to crush them like China did.

Uzbekistan beat Macau by 20 in their first game. They did lose by 35 to the Philippines and by 35 to Lebanon. However, China won by 60 points against them. Uzbekistan is led by Alexander Kozlov who scored over 20 points in the Macau game but was disappointing in others.

I won't be shocked by a huge blowout but think the underdog can stay within 39 points on Thursday night.

This pick lost as it ends 79-37.

Ubekistan only scored 3 points in the second quarter. They looked like a 4th grade Catholic girl's school playing at recess. Dr. James Naismith is currently rolling over in his grave as I write this................

FIBA Asia Cup
Uzbekistan/Chinese Taipei
10:30pm EDT
under 145.5

Taipei has averaged 155 ppg while Uzb is at 135 but the last two for Uzb have reached 133 and 116. These teams are playing their 5th game in 6 days. China scored 107 agaisnt Uzb but they have been lucky to reach 50 in most games except for the first game vs. Macau. They only made 1/17 3's last night and caussed us to lose our +39.5 wager.

Taipei had a big win over Inida as they combined to reach 200 while their Japan game was in the 160's. I expcet to see a 86-52 type of game that stays under unless Kozlov and Denisov play well. GL!

2012 Asia under 18 women
Hong Kong vs. Singapore
Tuesday (October 2, 2012)
Over 123.5 (bet365)

Hong Kong is 2-1 and off a 76-67 loss to India. Here are the Hong Kong games:

Kazhakstan 93-52 (145)
Sri Lanka 83-25 (108)
India 76-67 (143)

They are led by Wang who has 25, 23 and 13 points while Li has 17, 13 and 21 points in the three games.

Singapore is an underdog of 32 points. They are 1-1 as one game was a forfeit. They beat a bad team in Sri Lanka 55-46 (101 points) but lost to India by 93-53 (146). When you average 146 and 101 you get 123.5 and that is our total. They are led by See, Lim and Han. See scored 16 in one game. They made 12 of 23 foul shots in the India game but was 0-8 vs. Sri Lanka.

Off a loss, Hong Kong should push the pace and they are averaging 81 ppg. Singapore did play a 146 point game with India and this game should be somewhat similar to that one. My guess is we see a 81-47 type of game and 128 points.

This game is not available at many books but I did see it at bet365. GL!

88-48 (136 points) as we take advantage of the oddsmaker's low total. Hong Kong made 11/23 3-pointers. The teams combined to go 9/18 and 15/26 from the free throw line.

I will try to post some plays this week if I see something I like. Plenty of games to choose from in many leagues.

2012 Asia under 18 (women)
Sri Lanka vs. India
Wednesday (October 3, 2012)
Sri Lanka +53.5

India is 3-0 while Sri Lanka is 0-3. This will be the final game for each in the preliminary round. India won their first game by 93-53 over Singapore as all 12 girls were able to play. They are a deep team as Chaturvedi scored 32 in one game but had less than 5 in the others. Skaria is a solid player too. Another player is named Rajapriyadharshinir, RAJAGANAPATHI and I am sure she uses a nickname (Maybe they call her RaRa?)

India's other games were against decent competition as they beat Kazhakstan by 17 and Hong Kong by 9 (they were 17 point underdogs in this game).

Sri Lanka is one of the weaker teams in the tournament along with Thailand and Malaysia. They do have some decent players like Anne Stephanie Ravindran who did have 18 points and 6 rb's in one game (as well as 8 turnovers). She has played all 40 minutes in two games. Marasinghese, P. Liyanadge and Samararaji are other key players. They have made just 5 of 50 3-pointers and 20/53 free throws. They are bad. Very bad. Sad bad.

Their scores:

Lost to Hong Kong by 58 (83-25)
Lost to Singapore by 9 (55-46) both combined to make just 6/28 FT's
Lost to Kazahstan by 29 (77-48)

I won't be shocked to see India win by 60 points but think Sri Lanka can stay within 45-50 points. It does concern me that India's last game was a forfeit win over Uzbekistan and they will be ready to get on the court again.

Hopefully, we see a 90-44 type of score. GL!

T...the side was steamed to 17 just before tip...some people lost some serious money on that game. I was on the fence, so I just stayed there with my money in my pocket. Ceylon scares the sheet out of me..gl on the play.

The play lost as India crushed them badly after a close first quarter. It was almost as bad as the Bears beating the Cowboys on Monday night.

Latvia
LU vs. VEF Riga
11:30am Wednesday
over 172.5

These two played 3 times at VEF Riga lastyear and the scores reached 195, 182 and 177. VEF Riga is off a road loss and should play well. They are favored by -34.5. Hopefully, LU (Latvijas Univ.) can put up points as well.

Tough loss on that over. I missed out on it this time.

So basketball season has officially begun worldwide?? I'm assuming you will have more plays in the upcoming days/weeks/months?

Dallas at FC Barcelona
NBA Europe Live
3pm Eastern (Tuesday)

Barcelona +5.5

This game is being played in Barcelona. The home team has started 0-2 in Spain and will be motivated playing against Dirk Nowitzi. Dallas just played in Germany and held on to beat Alba Berlin by 89-84 as they difference was Alba only made 4/23 3-pointers.

FCB is led by Lorbek, Ante Tomic, Juan Carlos Navarro and Joe Ingles. They beat the Lakers two years ago.

Dirk and Kamen may have a letdown after playing in Germany. Vince Carter, Shawn Marion and Darren Collison will see time for the Mavs.

The crowd will be behind the home team and that should help them stay within the number.

Easy winner for Barcelona (99-85) as Dirk did not play.

Alba Berlin at Montepaschi Siena
Euroleague (Friday 2:45pm eastern)
Alba Berlin +8.5 (Pinnacle)

Alba beat the Artland Dragons 94-62 earlier. They are led by Deon Thompson, Deshawn Wood and Nihad Djedovic. Siena is not as strong as last year and did pick up Bobby Brown, who is athletic and can score points but is very erratic. Take the points.

Alba Berlin +8.5
