Strongly disagree! Way harder to achieve number one than to win a slam! 50 slam winners since early 70's in male tennis only 26 number ones. Not even close. It took Wilander 7 slam wins to achieve number 1. I don't care what the experts say, it's just facts, number 1 is harder to achieve than slams. Joker will have over 400 weeks at number one. No one will be even close. Even now he has over 115 more weeks and counting at number 1 than Nadal. Right now Joker is greater than Nadal, 115 more weeks at number one than Nadal. Plus Nadal has a huge blemish on his record. He's never won the year end championship. His winning percentage at that tournament is a pitiful 56%. Winning slams is tough a true test of endurance, but let's face it you only play 2 rarely 3 top 8 opponents. The year end championship every match is against the best of the best! As much as I like Nadal and hate Joker, Joker is just better, even though he has two less slams. His 115 more weeks at number 1 and his 5 year end championships far exceeds Nadal's two more slams!

You can disagree all you want, but to say the debate is over is just ridiculous.

So two slams trumps 115 weeks at number 1 and 5 ATP championships!? That is ridiculous. 33 players have won 2 or fewer slams yet only 6 (not including Joker) have more than 115 weeks at number 1, and only 3 players have 5 or more ATP championships. There's a reason why Agassi is not even in the same ballpark as Connors and Lendl, nor is Wilander in the same ballpark as McEnroe, even though they have the same total grand slams. As of right now Joker is greater than Nadal.

Hate to say it but Joker the douchebag inevitably will be considered the GOAT but he's not liked to the levels of Fed or Rafa.

Borg the fav Vs Nadal , RG final?

for what its worth -do a quick googele search on 'top clay players of all time'. Dont think you'll find a list with Nadal as not #1, ..looked at 5 or so , they did all have Borg #2 tho

----------------------

another metric to look at is winning % Vs top 10's (here's yuor tally as of 2018, u know here to get more undated numbers?);

all surfaces

smaller sample size for Borg, but impressive nonetheless
