Group claims to have enough signatures to recall Oklahoma mayor who cut police funding

A group that launched an effort to oust an Oklahoma mayor who voted in June to slash police department funding has claimed to have gathered enough signatures on its recall petition, according to a report.

Norman Mayor Breea Clark, a Democrat, did not comment Friday on the effort to force her recall in a vote January, the Oklahoman reported.

A group called Unite Norman spent weeks gathering signatures on the recall petition.

The deadline for filing the petition was Friday, the paper reported. The group reported gathering the signatures from 20,560 Norman voters. They needed at least 18,124.

"What we just did was historic," Unite Norman co-founder Russell Smith told supporters outside City Hall, the paper reported.

"It's about the issues here in this town,” he said. “It's about taking our town back. It's about not having radicals in power. It's about centering the shift."

The danger posed by hobby and other commercially available drones to aircraft isn't anything new. The Air Force themselves have had a number of very close calls with drones in recent years.

The fact that a drone can come so close to the world's highest-profile and most heavily monitored and defended variant of a commercial aircraft is troubling for obvious reasons. As we have said for many years, one of the biggest threats posed by lower-end drones is to VVIPs, and especially when they are on the move.

Romania Extradites Human Trafficking Kingpin to US

Romania has dispatched a well-known underworld figure to the US to face charges of organising the illegal entry to the US of hundreds of Romanians – who were then exploited to the financial benefit of the traffickers.

Romania’s Minister of the Interior, Marcel Vela, on Friday announced the arrest and extradition to the US of an alleged human trafficking kingpin wanted by the US for eight immigration-related charges.

The accused “is at the top of a network of international human trafficking [gangs operating] in Romania, Mexico and the US,” said Vela from Bucharest airport, minutes before the plane that would escort the man to justice took off.

Romanian media named the alleged criminal as a well-known Craiova underworld figure, Cristinel Luigi Popescu, known as “Luis”. He was previously wanted by Romanian justice for his role in organising the illegal entry to Canada and the US via Mexico of hundreds of Romanian Roma people.

His extradition was approved by a court in Craiova, southwest Romania. Another Romanian accused of several cybercrimes in America has also been sent to the US to face justice.

The US ambassador to Romania, Adrian Zuckerman, was present at Otopeni airport and commended his Romanian counterparts for the success of the operation.

BREAKING: The USPS Just Filed A Patent For A Blockchain-Based Secure-Voting System

It looks like the United States Post Office is getting in the business of voting.

It has recently been unearthed that he USPS filed for a patent on February 7, 2020 for a "Secure Voting System" that uses a blockchain access layer. Obviously, this could be one of the strongest signals of a welcome adaptation to blockchain by the U.S. government since blockchain was thrust on the map by Bitcoin.

"A voting system can use the security of blockchain and the mail to provide a reliable voting system," the patent application says. "A registered voter receives a computer readable code in the mail and confirms identity and confirms correct ballot information in an election. The system separates voter identification and votes to ensure vote anonymity, and stores votes on a distributed ledger in a blockchain."

The "United States Postal Service" is listed as the applicant on the application.

"Voters generally wish to be able to vote for elected officials or on other issues in a manner that is convenient and secure," the application says. "Further, those holding elections wish to be able to ensure that election results have not been tampered with and that the results actually correspond to the votes that were cast. In some embodiments, a blockchain allows the tracking of the various types of necessary data in a way that is secure and allows others to easily confirm that data has not been altered."

Equally as interesting as the patent itself is the fact that the application was filed before the coronavirus had wreaked total havoc on the country and long before the idea of mail in voting was being tossed around by pundits and the mainstream media on the daily.

POTUS began talking about mail-in voter fraud in March.

Proofs of his fraudulent claims showed up everywhere in recent months.

USPS recently dominates headlines over mail delays and ballots.

POTUS on Monday tweets "SAVE THE POST OFFICE".

Hours later we learn USPS filed a patent for this secure mail-in voting system in February.

Trump: Susan B. Anthony to get posthumous pardon

President Trump announced Tuesday morning he will give a posthumous pardon to Susan B. Anthony, one of history's biggest figures in the women's suffrage movement.

The announcement came 100 years to the day after the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

Anthony, a strong anti-slavery pioneer who died in 1906, had been arrested in 1872 for violating laws that had permitted only men to vote in the presidential election.

She was then indicted, tried and convicted for voting illegally and sentenced to pay a fine of $100 and court costs.

The historic New Yorker described her two-day trial in June 1873 as "the greatest judicial outrage history has ever recorded," according to The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration.

On Monday, President Trump told reporters that he would pardon someone “very, very important," but refused to go into details.

“She was never pardoned. Did you know that? She was never pardoned,” President Trump told reporters on Tuesday. “What took so long?”
