BREAKING: Senate Judiciary authorizes subpoenas for Obama officials amid Russia probe review

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved subpoenas for documents and testimony from top Obama administration officials as part of the panel’s investigation into the origins of the Russia probe during the 2016 presidential election.

The committee voted Thursday to approve a measure giving broad authority to Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to subpoena more than 50 mostly former Obama administration officials as part of its investigation.

The subpoenas apply to former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA director John Brennan, former national security adviser Susan Rice and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and others.

"McCabe...Comey...their day is coming," Graham said.

The subpoena authorization approved Thursday would also cover any documents, communications and testimony “related to any aforementioned matter” from current and former officials, including former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, former FBI officials Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, James Baker and Bill Priestap, as well as former DOJ official Bruce Ohr, among others.

The authorizations would also cover individuals involved in the Steele Dossier, including Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson and Nellie Ohr.

The apparent hypocrisy comes just weeks after big-city Democrats who once insisted on strict coronavirus lockdown measures had relented in the wake of George Floyd's in-custody death, and encouraged anti-police demonstrations.

On Monday, U.S. Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., told her Twitter followers she had joined a "Healing and Hope" rally "to speak with our community as America grieves."

By Thursday, Demings -- considered a possible running mate for Joe Biden -- had suddenly changed her tune on mass gatherings.

"The president’s plan to hold mass rallies in Florida and elsewhere as we experience a resurgence in COVID cases is irresponsible and selfish," Demings remarked, without any reference to her previous comments.

The double standard from the anti-Trump crowd didn't go unnoticed.

"Don’t take anyone stressing 'social distance' seriously if they were silent on protesters nationwide violating stay at home orders and social distancing guidelines," The Daily Caller's Logan Hall commented.

It’s official: Joe Biden is demanding that Facebook, the most powerful social media company in the world, interfere in the 2020 presidential election.

The presumptive Democratic nominee’s demand is shameful, cynical, and essentially redundant. As conservatives are well aware, there is already an extraordinary amount of censorship and anti-conservative bias on Facebook and its subsidiary platform, Instagram. Many of us have had our posts deleted for absurd reasons, seen our friends and favorite groups banned, or watched the content we create and enjoy get buried under an ever-growing forest of warnings, “fact-checks,” and disclaimers.

Just last month, Facebook ruthlessly censored conservative-leaning groups that were trying to organize anti-coronavirus lockdown protests, only to enthusiastically promote Black Lives Matter protest groups just weeks later, even as anarchist rioters used those demonstrations as cover for acts of political violence. Later, Breitbart articles were falsely “fact-checked” by liberal interns, presumably out of a desire to protect the public from this site’s dangerous viewpoints. The social media giant has even packed its “oversight board” with leftist “experts” who expressly reject the American concept of free speech in favor of the European “hate speech” paradigm and then try to back it up with artificial intelligence technology to automatically censor the “hate” and “harmful memes” posted by conservatives.

That’s still not enough censorship for the Biden Campaign, however.

What the Biden people want is the kind of preferential treatment they get from some of Facebook’s rivals, such as Twitter. They want the President of the United States and his supporters’ speech subjected to review by leftists and hidden behind warnings of “violence,” while insisting that leftists using social media to organize actual violence in the form of riots and looting — not to mention foreign dictators — go unmolested.

“The Biden team’s offensive also intensifies pressure on Facebook, which faced a public backlash last week after it did nothing about inflammatory posts by Mr. Trump,” The Times explained. “Employees resigned, hundreds participated in a virtual walkout[.]”

What is most disturbing about the Biden Campaign’s plot, however, is that they aren’t even trying to hide their desire for censorship. Indeed, according to Biden spokesman Bill Russo, social media censorship is “necessary to protect against a repeat of the role that disinformation played in the 2016 election.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who on Wednesday demanded the removal of Confederate statues occupying the U.S. Capitol, has remained silent on her father’s role in overseeing the dedication of the Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee Monument while serving as Baltimore’s mayor in 1948.

“As I have said before, the halls of Congress are the very heart of our democracy. The statues in the Capitol should embody our highest ideals as Americans, expressing who we are and who we aspire to be as a nation,” Pelosi said in her letter to Committee Chair Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Vice Chair Zoe Lofgren (D-CA).

“Monuments to men who advocated cruelty and barbarism to achieve such a plainly racist end are a grotesque affront to these ideals,” she continued. “Their statues pay homage to hate, not heritage. They must be removed.”

However, her father, Thomas D’Alesandro, Jr., oversaw the dedication of such a statue in Baltimore’s Wyman Park — the Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee Monument — as mayor of the city in 1948. At the time, the Speaker’s father said people could look to Jackson’s and Lee’s lives as inspiration and urged Americans to “emulate Jackson’s example and stand like a stone wall against aggression in any form that would seek to destroy the liberty of the world.”

Literally, TRUMP IS EVERYWHERE and BIDEN IS NOWHERE!
