You know, Sheriff Joe Hoe, your posts bring back memories of a time in my life to summer back in the late fifties

or early 60's when my parents drove my brother and me down to Manhattan in New York City for a weekend of

fun, sightseeing and shopping.

I was around 15-16 or so and still distinctly walking around the city and seeing a crowd of people huddled

around the street corner of Broadway and 42nd St watching and listening to some slovenly, grubby, dirty and raggedy-looking

guy holding some placards, signs, and pamphlets in his hand about the end of the world was near or to use your terminology, IMMINENT

and bellowing the same into a bullhorn to repent now or have your soul lost forever!!

Even at my young age, I was amazed that there was actually someone that deranged who could waste his life promulgating

that bullshit and that there might be people stupid and gullible enough to believe it!!

I watched and listened for a few minutes to this crackpot for the entertainment value and then simply walked away in stunned disbelief

with a big smile on my face and then spend the rest of the weekend enjoying it the way I intended it to be!!

I regard you, sbd and folks of your ilk as the modern-day equivalent of him with the attention-seeking
