"one state's "terrorist" is another state's "freedom fighter".
Hmmm. That is pretty much exactly what I said."
Sure thing Mr. Cynic.
If you would actually read the whole thing (which I knew you wouldn't because you only read what you think confirms your baseless and moronic opinions) you will notice that there is in fact an Academic Consensus Definition.
""Terrorism is an anxiety-inspiring method of repeated violent action, employed by (semi-) clandestine individual, group or state actors, for idiosyncratic, criminal or political reasons, whereby - in contrast to assassination - the direct targets of violence are not the main targets. The immediate human victims of violence are generally chosen randomly (targets of opportunity) or selectively (representative or symbolic targets) from a target population, and serve as message generators. Threat- and violence-based communication processes between terrorist (organization), (imperilled) victims, and main targets are used to manipulate the main target (audience(s)), turning it into a target of terror, a target of demands, or a target of attention, depending on whether intimidation, coercion, or propaganda is primarily sought" (Schmid, 1988)."
The US armed forces do not RANDOMLY select "The immediate human victims of violence." The targets of violence are in fact the main targets, they do not serve as message generators. While their are definitely many innocents killed who are not the main targets, they are not INTENTIONAL. And American forces wear distinctive unifroms to identify themselves as combatants, wheareas terrorists hide amongst civilians.
I know the differences terrorism and armed conflict might be a little too subtle for people of your intelligence, but most people not in the Blame America First crowd seem to get it.
