The NBA needs a stand alone HOF.

No other sport individualizes a team sport more then the NBA.
Yet they dont even have there own HOF.

16 straight years averaging double digits, first 6 seasons averaged 20+ ppg, 17,000 career pts, 6000 rebs, 4000 assists, plus throw in his duke days

Wow, I didn't realize his numbers were that strong. I believe I stand corrected.

i mean hes always a what could have been type of player, but people said his career was over 2-3 different times and hes kept coming back and is still relevant today pushing 40, i think he gets in.

Then you don't know anything about basketall. He is already #48 on the all-time scoring llist.

He is 3rd in all-time PPG.

Yeah, I tend to think I know a little about basketball but thanks. I guess with a third MVP coming I'd have to agree but when I think sure-fire HOF player I just don't put Lebron in that category yet.

couple guys not overly mentioned, but worth discussing: pau gasol, tony parker, grant hill, chauncey billups

I think all of those players are currently in the Hall of Very Good. I actually like all four of them a lot.

4 of those seasons he played 21 games or less. He was very good and consistent but I dont think he was ever great. But thats just me. He def has great rebounding and assist numbers but I would leave him out just because he never had any MVP type season

Tony Parker, Carlos Boozer, MAYBE Manu Ginobili.

Boozer is not a hall of famer. He has good stats but has never been dominant and not ever the best player on his team as DWilliams and DRose better players. No playoff success. I put Ginobli over Parker

When you mention C. Boozer and HOF in the same sentence you automatically disqualify yourself from ever being able to post in this thread again.

i think pau and manu are very very close to getting in based on what theyve done in the nba, but when you add what theyve done on the world stage i think they have to get in

So are you finished talking out of your ass yet or would like to continue? The fact that you're simply basing your criteria off your own perception of popular players hardly demonstrates that you even know what you're talking about. Why not actually take a look at some stats and evaluate a player's body of work before you blow them off completely? Although Boozer doesn't get all the accolades and attention in comparison to Deron Williams or Derrick Rose, it doesn't mean that you can negate his contribution either.

The fact of the matter is, his career/season stats are comparable to Nash, Kidd, and Parker. He also grabs boards, gets points, can shoot FTs, doesn't cause drama in the locker room, or get injured very often. So what would you say keeps him out of contention from being inducted in the future? Because he doesn't "dominate" a game or get very far in the postseason? Honestly now, when was the last time you've seen Kidd, or Ray Allen take over a game? When was the last time Nash was even a contender to win the Western Conference?

Career: 17.0 ppg, 9.9 reb. 1.9 ast
Season:15.1 ppg, 8.7 reb. 2.4 ast

oh and.. Parker over Ginobili.
