Mariota looks great when he has time to throw and has guys running wide open like you get with Oregon sometimes. He gets hit a few times and he turns into a shell of himself. Like last yr vs. Stanford.

no doubt someone will draft him. But even at 20 you can see someone's true colors....

I honestly grew some respect for him during that Clemson game. That was pure, unadulterated, love for the game. I like the dude on the field. It's not like the NFL has had to deal with punks before.

I don't have any respect for him

Hackenberg is the best prospect in college. I started a thread in the offseason that he is a better prospect than Luck was at the same point in his career.

Between Winston and Mariota, Jameis is the better player. Not sure how good in the NFL Mariota will be. The athleticism, arm, and release make him appear to be elite. His pocket presence is closer to Blaine Gabbert than an elite qb. To certain extent the Oregon offense makes him appear better than he really his.

Sure Winston has things he can improve on...his footwork, the baseball windup, but he has things that make him special. The leadership, ability to throw with anticipation, vision to see the entire field, and a natural feel for the game. People read and hear things about him the press and make assumptions without realizing how special he is. Been the best player in college football the last 2 years. Talent wise he should be the number 1 pick in the draft. He lacks maturity and self awareness but on the field he's the guy I want.

Hackenburg as been very average this yr. saw every game he played this season
lots of yards but lots of bad throws in to coverage

guess it would help if franklin called a running play every once in awhile

I think the best college nfl qb is gunner from Cincinnati

You could be right. I haven't seen a lot of him but from what I have this guy is very talented. He has one hell of an arm and with good accuracy. When it's all said and done I wouldn't be suprised if Hundley has the best nfl career of this years draft eligible qb's. His upside is as high as anybody's.

I like Hackeberg man but you are nuts. At the same point during their careers, Luck accomplished the following:

PAC-10 Offensive Player of the Year
Unanimous All PAC-10 First Team
Orange Bowl MVP
Led PAC-10 in passing efficiency
Led PAC-10 in total offense, passing yards and TD passes

Hackenberg won't accomplish any of this stuff. Luck was a sure-fire can't miss prospect. That is not Hackenberg. Like Hack but he's no A. Luck.

IMO, one of those very good CFB QB's who's talent won't transition to the NFL.

Not sure what this hype is over Hackenberg. Rather have Halliday by far. But neither of them are in the Winston/Mariotta conversation

NFL history is littered with "can't miss" college QB prospects failing miserably.

I would bet a nickel with anyone on this forum that Mariota will be an All Pro before Winston !

True, but since 1970 there has been 6 hall of famers drafted in the 1st round and 2 drafted in other rounds. So a lot of people fail. But 1st round prospects typically perform better... obviously

The arm and footwork are far better as a true freshman than Luck's in his first year. His feel for the pocket may be the best i've ever seen from a true freshman. Once the body of work is complete we'll be able to tell more. Luck also come into a west coast offense. Hackenberg plays in a much more vertical system.

That 2 will become 3 when Brady makes the HOF.

Well this isn't right. I can name three right off the top of my head.

But what you said is right now at this point in both of their careers, Hackenberg is better. No way. Not even close.

These things can be tough to predict. He has the ability to throw from one hash mark into tight coverage across the field. Not something many qb's can do. The problem I have with him is with as bad as the UCLA o-line has been it seems to have affected him mentally. At this point I still have a pretty high view on him as prospect.
