If I start playing with Pro 5, why would some posters feel obligated to flame me?

Folks, just remember one thing. Peep is NOT a stupid guy. So why in the world would Peep send his money to this outfit, when there are books out there like Pinnacle, Olympic, Fort Knox, etc..

If Peep is going to send money here, you know there is a good chance the Shrink probably vouched for him. So if Peep gets stiffed, he is still getting paid. I mean, what other explanation is there for Peep sending money to this place. And it's not a big risk for Shrink because Peep is NOT a big player, and if he ever got stiffed, it might cost Kenny maybe 300 bucks.

I don't think it is the same ownership as the old Action Sports.

Shrink vouches for nothing as to the safety of my funds.

I have spoken to Danny Rose on the phone several times, I believe him over "wash woman" Nolan.

If I get stiffed, I get stiffed.

You guys think you are so much safer at "good books" like Camelot, Aces Gold, Alladin's Gold... well play there.

Truth is nobody knows, all any of us can go by is our instincts and what we know about sports books. One thing I learned last year is everybody saying a book is safe means very little.

Did you send Pro5 money?

Did they give you a free account?

If you did send them money, was it your own personal money, or did Shrink send it for you (not in lieu of any payment you would ordinarilly get)?

If you or somebody on your behalf did send Pro5 money, did Pro5 add any any bonus over and above what they would ordinarilly give any other player as a bonus?

Enquiring minds want to know and all that.

 

Chris, sorry to say Shrink's not involved in this.

Pro 5 has given me nothing, don't think they will/plan to give me anything. They don't even know I plan to play there unless they are reading the site. I Wouldn't take it anyway, would look bad on the site I think.

I like the -105, some of the lines. Plus I think they have been wrongly accused by Nolan. I see no reason to play there.

I only plan on posting $500 or so and making $100 bets.

Joey, if you want to donate a 1000 post shirt to someone, that is fine, post a size you want sent and to whom.

as someone said peep....they wouldnt be dumb enough to scam you....well maybe they would be...i play at 3 books....that's it.....bowman's, olympic, and cris.....and i have never had problems at any of those.....i would'nt even know 10 books without looking at the homepage first...for me this is for fun.....it's not a way of life......


after seeing the way they handeled owen's problem (with another wager) i still think this was unprofessional and i still have seen no conclusive evidence to say that they were not the ones who screwed sick out of his money.....so the ruling on the field still stands....

Was the possible/probable links to old Action Sports.

I felt good enough about their ability to pay, good enough about the players being covered by third party insurance.

I had a tough time with "we bought only the assets of Action Sports, not the liabilities" argument since day one.

Both Owen's and ESPN's disagreements with them had me leaning towards the player's side as well.

Anyway, on to tomorrow's crisis/opportunity....

And that is the biggest problem I had.

After watching "more of Nolan in action", I am more and more convinced he is sleeze.

I like the way Pro 5 is handling it, staying out of it.

So I plan to play there. I think they will be fine to post up with. Of course I thought that with Bet247USA, and $2100 later......

I think the posters are the watchdog here, NOT the site management. For us to say otherwise puts everyone under a false sense of security IMO.

And no, I am not getting a free $100.00 account. Actually didn't get one first time around with them, I put up a $100, they put up a $100, I played the money out and even made a few bucks on it. I enjoyed playing there, no problems at all.

Dickyw, not that Nolan is gone, I don't think they call anyone "wash woman" any more. That was his ad campaign. I like to think that is at least part of the reason they canned him.

And the same way I don't expect any sympathy from getting slow paid at Bet247USA, I wouldn't expect any if I got stiffed or slow paid at Pro 5. I know what I am getting into.

We had this discussion a week ago, we discussed the context of my quote then.

I said this to a new poster ghosting for a new book.

I still think it is dangerous for a new gambler to play at a new book. It could be highly rewarding for an experienced play though, still the same book.

I believe in risk/reward ratio as an underlying principle for ALL gambling. If some consider Pro 5 to be too high a ratio, they shouldn't play there. I think the ratio is fine, I plan to play there.

Doesn't look like I will be betting much before NBA though, not working out for me in terms of the job. I tried backing off a little last week, everyone got excited I wasn't doing this that or the other thing...

So as long as I do 100 hours a week here everyone is happy hehe. Doesn't leave much time for gambling though.

We did discuss this a couple weeks ago, but you never did fully explain what had caused your apparent 180 degree reversal of opinion on playing at smaller/less reputable books.

After a couple posts back and forth, I believe you chalked it up to trying to smoke out a shill, or something like that.

If you are saying that you think it's OK to play at smaller/less reputable books if you have plenty of experience offshore, then we will leave it at that.
