And you came onto a sports betting website with your initial 4 posts to let us know...why don't u go to a multiculturalism site if thats what your agenda is.
But you avoid the question...you said there are thousands of Americans who are more important than MLK; someone asked you to name 5. Please do...

America is the greatest country because of how people no matter what race can have just as much rights as the next man

Have you been outside the US? There are other countries that have much less trouble about things like race.

I suppose alot of the going overboard about "black history" is to compensate for past wrongdoings. However, at some point its overcompensation.

They're haven't experienced anything that countless other peoples haven't experienced before them.

Why on MLK day are Federal-County-City offices closed yet sports are played? IMO, those who are not honoring this mans legacy are the ones guilty of being Racists! My answer to your question.....

If the bank says no business, why is anyone doing business? Money, Money, and more Money

1) The workers are b/c they are being honored by being paid not to work!
Do you really believe a Goverment worker needs another Paid Holiday? BTW......... MLK isn't paying for this day off for the above employee's... you are! it's called payroll tax.......As someone above mentioned, we need somebody to stand-up and speakout against how/where the system is headed! When anyone is paid 2x's above the poverty line they should/could for starters pay their own Health Insurance and still survive but.......

2) The players whom I might say are the majority of MLK color fail to recognize if not for him where would they be today! Great way to show your respect not honoring this Holiday? I'm sure someone will say by their playing that is their way of showing how grateful they are but

Pig you sound like an ignorant asshole to be honest...

He doesn't deserve a day? Are you shitting me....

You are a gambler I would guess being on this site right? Well you think we would have african-american athletes as prevelant today if it wasn't for a guy like MLK... that is just a small thing and a pointless thing, IMO, that MLK affected... He made it ok to be Black and to be somebody and to have dreams... I think you really don't understand that MLK wasn't about making blacks equal but about making everyone equal... he just happened to be an African American in the Cival Rights movement.,.. he is an American hero and I am White... And to argue that Columbus did more is just dumb... HE DIDNT EVEN discover the USA... he never stepped foot on the USA's soil he just discovered new land... He didn't impact this country as we see it today at all!!! He did nothing to affect the life we live today but MLK did...

And I am white and went to a Public school and to go to school in a diverse community is the best thing you could ever ask for... because I am from a very wealthy white neighborhood but we share our High school with an upperclass- middle class diverse neighborhood so when we went to high school it was a good thing because I learned a lot and wasn't a close minded asshole... I also went to a top 50 public high school in the country and black history month alwasy had some of the coolest performances of the year...

Also we have black history month because every fucking month is White history month guys haha... lets be real
You sound just like one of my english teachers back in high school. Do you whip yourself for being white?

The funniest part about all this black brotherhood and black pride is when they say "we have to stop black on black crime." Black on white crime isn't an issue? I thought we were equal. Shouldn't it be human vs human crime?

EDIT: Mrhognuts beat me too it.

It's the media. They go crazy over any story or event so they have something to talk about, and they talk about it to the point that it's enough to drive me crazy.

Yes Sir, we are all human! How all humans are treated is another topic!!!

Why are they having the Golden Globe awards on this Holiday? GTD the Bro's will be thankful to MLK but I wonder if MLK would be proud of the receipants..........

My black counterpart at work got today off as a holiday, I had to take it off as a personal day (of which I get 5). Hmm. His parents are wealthy, mine are not...seems a little unfair? Should I get GW day off?

I'm surprised they haven't placed MLK on a commerative coin, yet, as was done decades ago with Booker T. Washington. I'm not a stamp guy, but I'd bet he's been on a stamp.
