Bear in mind something that is difficult but very, very very important for your emotional survival: Despite what they say in the Harlequin Romane novels, it is entirely possible to find The One and then find out that you are not The One to that person. I know from experience, but didn't figure it out until disaster had struck.
Also, as a fellow Southerner, I might suggest that you refer to her drawl as "sexy" or "distinctive" when talking to her, rather than "funny as hell." Just a little piece of free advice worth heeding sir.

Journeyman, I come back from a week in Quebec (aka la babe heaven and that French accent is sexy as all hell too

It appears that the local gal is not terribly interested in something more permanent or serious until school is done.
