He doesn't act presidential. He doesn't represent our country in a professional educated way. I kind of like some of his ideals but he acts like a thug. He's dangerous and reckless. I'm a Kasich guy. He's a pro.

I think you just described OBAMA perfectly!!!

Obnoxious Bernie supporter in Chicago:

Typical tough guy. I am sure he will be proud of that moment once he gets out of the college bubble. Wished that big guy would have decked his punk ass.

He throws people out of his events like I change socks. Some are protesting peacefully, one guy said not all Muslims are terrorists and not all Mexicans are rapists, one woman was tossed for standing in silence while dressed clearly as a Muslim. Considering he doesn't care about the 1st amendment with anyone that doesn't worship him why should they care about his?

The rallies are *not* public/government events --- they're private events. You can't walk into somebody's house, and scream about your 1st Amendment rights.

Not a big fan of Trump, but he's got every right to eject people from his rallies.

Just have all the rallies in the morning.
None of these protestors are up before noon.

MSNBC is interviewing Jedidiah Brown (the guy who was screaming @ the podium, and also was caught on-camera throwing a punch).

"We don't want that rhetoric on Chicago soil."

Well then, mission accomplished. Remind me, which party is supposed to be the open-minded party?

I'm not a Trump fan but you can't physically shut down a man's right to be heard. Most of these guys were Sander's supporters. So, we don't like the message so we force him to be quiet? Come on now.
Forced him to be quiet? He cancelled it on his own, then lied and said the cops told him to. Trump is a pussy, just like his supporters

I don't think this post is accurate. These are public events on public property I believe which means anyone can attend. The rally in Chicago last night was to be held at a public university I believe.

LOL, Bernie had his mic taken from him and was forced off the stage by two female BLM protestors.

Can you provide proof that Trump lied? Because there is conflicting information. You've got some people in Chicago PD saying they never spoke to Trump's campaign.

But then you've *also* got this -- "Chicago Police Interim Superintendent John Escalante said in a press conference that police assured the campaign they had more than adequate resources and could guarantee him safe access and exit from the event, as well as the safety of all the attendees, supporters and protesters."

Then you've also got the semantics of:

1) Trump said his campaign met with "law enforcement" -- but I don't think Trump specified the agency? Maybe Trump spoke to Secret Service (or UIC campus police), but didn't speak to Chicago PD.
2) Perhaps the police "advised" Trump to cancel (or take precautions) -- but didn't officially "recommend" the cancellation.
3) Typical politics, with everybody trying to cover their ass.

Regardless.......given the violence @ event, can you really blame Trump for backing out?

Nope. There might be some grey-area in a public park, street, etc.

But most rallies are private events -- even when they're "open to the public", they're still private events.

Trump's rally last night @ arena.........no different than a basketball game, concert, etc. Think of the legal language on tickets:

"Management of the event reserves the right, without the obligation to provide a full or partial refund, to refuse entry to or eject any person for any reason deemed necessary in the sole discretion of management for the safe and orderly operation of the event (including disorderly, vulgar or abusive conduct) or for the enforcement of policies applicable to the event (including these terms or other posted policies)."

The statement from Escalante pretty much illustrates the he-said/she-said nature of this situation. How can the police *ever* guarantee the safety of all attendees, supporters, and protesters?

Two officers were injured last night, and 2-3 civilians went to hospital. Not much of a guarantee, is it?

No guy. If a rally is held at a public university or in a public venue, nobody has the right to shut that event down or prevent anyone from attending.

You don't think if there was a security threat it would be shut down (even if temporarily delayed) to investigate the threat(s)? I agree the fighting and uproar should just have been handled with the people involved only and not shut completely down, but I think it was a safety concern for his supporters, for him, and to avoid further unneeded drama.

Yeah Murphy but that's not what we're talking about. Funk Monkey is talking about the right to throw protesters out of the event. Yeah, close any event down if there's a serious security concern.

"Leaders can't say whatever they want, it leads to actions others take." Something to think about.

PatsFan, are you holding Donald Trump responsible for the violent protests we're seeing at his rally's or do you hold the action takers responsible?
