ok eric, only if you answer me this.. Do you play with a backspin.. IOW, when you serve, can you put a top spin on it, or do you just play kosher.. Like basic ping pong.. And do you smash well, or do you force me a lot to make the mistake by hitting the net, or hitting it too long.. thanks..

I need to know..

Yea Sick,

I'm a huge Caray family fan, ofcourse being from Atlanta.

Just a quick side-bar, when I was in St.Louis in July of '94(before strike) I went to this restaurant called Tony's downtown and a couple of tables away were Jack and Joe Buck with their wifes and none other than Stan Musial and his wife. I could barely eat! Another stadium with history that is tangible.

And Eric!

I was in FLA this past weekend, we should get together for a ping-pong war. I went to FSU on a tennis scholarship, and I know you know what sport we play during rain delays and match delays.

Sick, I will be honest, I can do all the above and I can smash almost anything. If you suck, I would never take your money but if its close I will gladly take the loot!

But here is a little secret I have not played in a year and only play about once a year! But its something we had in the house , and we played non-stop, me and my brothers and friends!

I was the YMCA champ, but thats certainly no biggy! I just love to compete and since no one will let me play baseball anymore, I guess ping-pong will have to do!

Hey There Again Sick!

I will post a thread about this later, but let me shoot this out!?

How about at the next RX bash we have a ping-pong tourny? $20 ahead, winner takes all, and buys a round at the bar.

ok eric, from the sound of what you just said, i think you will win, but I will give you a run for your money. 2 out of 3, up to 21... you spot me 12 pts each game..
icon_wink.gif

Fair enough?? Let me see here.. You grew up playing with your brothers and friends, with a table in your house. You can smash, spin and all.. You were YMCA champ.. ooooooooooooooookkkkkk..

Hey.. does Sick Gambler have the word sucker written on his forehead or what..?
icon_wink.gif

But I'll tell you what.. if you do come here, I will play you for the 100.. but warn me 2 months in advance so i can start practicing because I have not played in years.. I might just shock you because Sick Gambler was a great ping pong player when he was in his early 20's.. I hardly ever lost a match..

But I will definitely be a dog here against you..

Who will win the match

Eric -380
SG +320

___

But for 100, I am ready to risk that . I play good as a dog.. Takes the pressure off me..

I've seen games at:

Yankee
Shea
Skydome
Camden Yards
Dodger

...and the St. Petersburg (Single-A) Rays.

That's a pathetic list for a lifelong baseball fan!

(PS Gee, guess which reason of the country I'm from?!

Great idea, I love to play ping-pong myself.

For ballparks (baseball) I have an atrocious list, it's embarrassing. Only been to 3 of them. Of course I have been to the Trop and watched the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Park sucks if you ask me. Indoors without a retractable roof and the place just seems too generic or something for my tastes. Also went to Fulton County Staidum a few times to see the Braves and went to Murphy Field and saw the Padres a long time ago. We drove from Florida to Vegas, from there to San Diego and then back to Florida. I need to stretch my legs just thinking about it again, LOL. None of the parks I've been to was anything special.

Told you my list is probably last place for baseball.

Paddy,

That was a very embarassing post by you. You should be embarassed. I can't believe a big baseball fan such as yourself, who has been involved in sports all his life has ONLY been to 3 stadiums, and 3 of the worst you can imagine.

Tropicana (TB)
Jack Murphy (SD)
Fulton County (ATL)

Come on Paddy, you really shocked me there. I would expect at least 7 or 8 from a guy who's been around like you. Geez, I know girls who have been to more stadiums than 3..

I like the smack talk Glacken, makes it all fun. LOL!!

Sick - just being honest, I could make some lies up if I tried. When you have your own place you don't feel the need to travel as much, you kind of like being at your home. Now I'm sure your Mom's basement is nice and all, don't get me wrong. I just stay at home a lot more once I moved out from my parents house....

If we have the bash in Vegas maybe can get'em to post some chalk on us!! That would be a joke!

All in fun my man but it sounds like some serious fun! I'm not a bad loser at all, would just like to see all have a good time.

I'd put me at around +170 since I only play a few times a year and always takes me a few games to recover my backhand; but if get a few easy early rounds look out!

We should really try and do this.

I win my bet Sick, was just playing with you. I bet +180 you would just laugh it off. The steam came the other way that you would be offended and react harshly. See I know this guy, he can laugh with the best of them.

Glacken - it will happen. We are having the trip for sure and this year believe it or not we almost got tables anyway. We were going to get a pool table, ping pong and maybe a couple of golf games but backed out late. Angelle can tell you. I will insist we get a ping-pong table this year. At those odds for me I will pay for it myself if I have to.

PS - I'm not much for pool either but let's put some odds up, I might get lucky a game or two.

I went through a phase like that about 15 years ago in which I wanted to see my Blue Jays play in as many stadiums as possible. I eventually made it to (don't remember all the stadiums' names):

Detroit
Cleveland
Baltimore
Yankees
Anaheim
Texas
and of course Exhibition Stadium and Skydome

I also lived in New York for 2 years and got dragged to Shea for a Mets game or two.

I've been inside the big "O" but not during any event. It was part of a school field trip.

So that makes it 9 1/2. Not bad for a Hungarian, eh?

I have never been to a baseball game. I went to a few basketball games and in February when Vernon Forrest makes his next fight here I'll get some ringside seats. never had the pleasure of being to a baseball game though.
