With respect; I don't think it's all about the mortality rate. It's the rate at which the virus spreads thereby causing potential disruptions to everyday life and a burden on the healthcare system.

My wife is charge nurse over the ER at a hospital. Been there 35 yrs., share some of her thoughts and facts later

My wife works at a hospital that has 4 under its name in 3 different counties / cities

She is at one their ERs heading up screening from 6pm to 6am

they are screening every patient coming in separating those that may possibly have the virus from those that are coming in for other medical issues. They have to screen everyone coming in

they saw one possible patient last night

I’m trying to get an update on the other 3 ER locations of possible cases

would like to track to see if the numbers grow everyday

Anyone who cannot see that the threat is real are wrong.

There are roughly 60,000 homeless in NYC. These people are high risk individuals. Drug addicts, alcoholics, malnutrition, and in generally poor health. If they start getting sick it will swamp the Hospitals. In Italy right now health care workers are dying performing their jobs. If you are a nurse or some other worker in a Hospital how willing are you to get infected? Many will stay away and this will cause a downward spiral in medical care. This is a serious issue.
