Dude, rory has won a whopping two tourn in his career....and at the masters he shot an 80 in the final round of the one he had a chance to win...but I like that bet and ill take it, ill quit this forum if rory wins a major before tiger does. None if these young guys have won a Damn thing besides the chuck e cheese invitationals yet.
Out of the young guys, I would take Jason day to win one before tiger. But that's the only one
We have a wager....win or lose, we will have fun....
You are probably the fav, but I have faith....

Uh Oh !
I love the way McIlroy is playing this week. But just like with Tiger 15 years ago, I'm not going to get carried away calling the kid the next coming until he's got a few more wins under his belt. He won only once last year, and hadn't won anything this year until probably tomorrow. This win should boost his confidence to another level. It still remains to be seen if he can win on a course that's not tailor made for him. When he does that, I know he's arrived.
win or lose, good luck VD. I'll make sure I am at the Bash in 2012 to pay or collect. BTW, I think if Rory wins this weekend, my bet looks stronger. Rory could start winning a few of these
yep.....congrats, it happened. good for rory, guy really does have the prettiest swing in the world. i dont care for him much, prob cause i'm a tiger homer and he is the only guy on the planet that has any kind of chance to become the next tiger, but he still has a hell of a long way to go (13 more majors and 80some odd tourn wins), and hopefully tiger can get his shit together and make it a little longer way to go. i would like to see the good tiger vs the current rory playing some back 9's in majors for a few years. call tiger and phil a rivalry if you want, but tiger in his prime is way out of phils league.
anyways, good call on rory. i told ya i was gonna put him on my future list for this tourny, but i didnt and i'm kicking my own dumbass self for not doing it. i'm not taking anything away from rory at all, he would beat anybody in the world this week at any golf course in the world, he is playing that good imo.....but i think the usga really screwed this tournament up this year. its supposed to be the freaking us open, maybe 2 guys under par and these guys are lighting this place up like its a muni. i know the rain has been a huge factor, but the rough is weak, the pins are easily accessible and these guys are spinning 7 irons off slopes right to the pin.... spinning 7 irons at a us open?
guess they were trying to get somebody to put some pressure on rory today with the course setup, but really they just set it up exactly how rory likes it, lush, soft, and long.
anyways good luck folks
yea, i agree. but there is no question he is the only golfer alive that has any kind of chance to make a run like tiger has done......when people start talking about why rory doesnt win every tournament he enters, like they do with tiger, then i guess we can say rory has arrived. but he is the only guy in the world that has a chance to have people talking about him like that. when phil or whoever, misses cuts or doesnt win a golf tournament, people just shrug it off and say, o maybe next week. when tiger misses a cut or loses a golf tournament, threads are started about it at the rx, its on sportscenter for 2 weeks, hell its prob on good morning america. but when tiger was winning, its really not news at all, it was just expected every week.
not taking anything away from rory this week. he has made this us open boring as hell and he did that by playing so well....so i tip my cap to him
Phil still loves the game. But I get the impression that he's not quite as hungry for wins as he used to be. Especially now that he's got a lot more world class talent out there to deal with.Very frustrated with Phil ! Sick of watching him miss all of these short putts. Rory-Tiger matchups could be good for golf. I agree with you with the USGA setup, think they could have added more rough, etc. to make this track harder.
Ok Taylor, think I have made my point with you, I'm letting you off of the hook here, with one condition. We strip you from the " Golf Guy " label and you start calling me " golf guy " from here on out.
