Following reports that swing state voters attempting to cast a ballot for Mitt Romney saw the machine check President Obama’s name instead, the Republican National Committee is pushing six states to ensure that ballots are properly cast.
“I understand that, in a significant number of cases, voting machines in your states have populated a vote for Barack Obama when a voter cast his or her ballot for Mitt Romney,” wrote RNC chief counsel John Phillipe to secretaries of state in Nevada, Ohio, Kansas, North Carolina, Missouri, and Colorado. “I further understand that the causes of this problem are varied, and include miscalibration and hyper-sensitivity of the machines,” he acknowledged. But he called for four actions at the state level:
1. All voting machines be recalibrated before Election Day.
2. Additional technicians in the event of further issues.
3. Sign notification reminding voters to double-check the correctness of their ballot in the machine before final submission.
4. Verbal guidance to remind voters to make sure that the ballot they cast is correct.
“I believe these common-sense steps will greatly assist voters on Election Day,” he wrote.
Yesterday, the Marion Star (Ohio) reported on voting problems such as what Phillipe described. “Upon selecting ‘Mitt Romney’ on the electronic touch screen, Barack Obama’s name lit up,” the paper noted. “It took [the voter] three tries before her selection was accurately recorded."

[h=1]This is no way to get us up & running[/h] [h=2]Generators should give power to people — not marathon[/h]

Portable emergency generators providing power to the New York Marathon tent set up in Central Park.
As hundreds of thousands of Big Apple residents suffer in homes left without power by Hurricane Sandy, two massive generators are being run 24/7 in Central Park — to juice a media tent for Sunday’s New York City Marathon.
And a third “backup” unit sits idle, in case one of the generators fails.
EDITORIAL: Marathon is power mad!
The three diesel-powered generators crank out 800 kilowatts — enough to power 400 homes in ravaged areas like Staten Island, the Rockaways and downtown Manhattan.

SHOCKING: As Sue Somma waits for power in her ruined Staten Island living room yesterday, a marathon tent in Central Park is getting plenty of juice.

As of Friday morning, five generators sat outside of the park along with electrical stations and transformers.
In addition to the generators, a food services truck dropped off hundreds of cases of water, sparking angered responses from hurricane victims.
"I am from Coney Island where everything is flooded and underwater," Yelena Gomelsky, 65, said. "I live 1 block from the ocean where everything is floating. "[Seeing the generators and water] makes me feel so bad. People have no food, no water, nothing.
"They should make all of these runners bring food and water to people's houses who need it. They should bring all of these generators to buildings where old people live and give them power."
Joan Wacks, whose Staten Island waterfront condo was swamped with 4 feet of water, predicted authorities will still be recovering bodies when the estimated 40,000 runners from around the world hit the streets Sunday, and she called the mayor "tone deaf."
"He is clueless without a paddle to the reality of what everyone else is dealing with," she said. "If there are any resources being put toward the marathon, that's wrong. I'm sorry, that's wrong." She added: "We totally understand the public relations aspect, to show everyone survived. But this is not one of those times."
Since emergency executive orders have been issued, the governor, mayor — or even President Obama — could take the generators for a more important use, explained Pace University law professor Bennett Gershman.
Such an emergency action would need the approval of the City Council, state Legislature or Congress. And they would have to compensate the owners of the devices.
But plenty in the city wish they had taken such decisive action. After all, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie postponed Halloween for safety reasons, so Gov. Cuomo or Mayor Bloomberg should issue an executive order for lifesaving generators.
Manhattah Borough Preisdent Scott Stringer voiced his opinion on Friday, saying that the city needs to recognize the suffering following "a tragedy of historic proportions."

[h=2]As Chuck Todd and NBC release their juicy-juiced-juicery from a propagandist named Marist predicting Obama will nearly double his 2008 turnout advantage with a D+9 poll, in his first trip to Ohio since Hurricane Sandy, Mitt Romney attracted a jaw-dropping crowd of 30,000 at a rally Friday evening.[/h] Mean while at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Ohio, President FailureTeleprompter drew a crowd of 2800.
You going to believe, NBC News and Marist, or your lying eyes?

[h=2]Unlike Chuck Todd's, Marist, a flat-out propagandist for NBC News pumping out polls today showing Obama nearly doubling his lead and turnout advantage in Ohio and winning Florida by two, Mason-Dixon is a universally respected pollster, especially in specific states such as Florida. T oday they have Romney up six in Florida, 51-45%.[/h] This is a fantastic poll for Mitt Romney and much more in line with what we're seeing from other respected pollsters and not NBC's juicy-juiced-juicery. But of course the only polls the CorruptMedia reports are media juicers like Marist.
Marist isn’t a pollster, it's NBC's own Corrupt Narrative Generator.
Mason-Dixon's results also line up with what we're seeing in the gains Romney's made in the Sunshine State's early vote count.

[h=1]Obama's Cleveland Rally Attendance 20x Lower than 2008[/h] Last night, in the cold and with long lines, 30,000 people showed up in Ohio to see Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. That same day, Obama attracted a meager 2,800. But enthusiasm for President FailureTeleprompter can be judged by more than comparisons with Romney. In 2008, at his last stop in Cleveland, a Democrat stronghold, Obama attracted 80,000 people. This morning, at his last 2012 stop in that same city, Obama could only attract 4,000.

[h=1]28 papers have quit Obama to endorse Romney[/h] Blogs

Do newspaper endorsements mean what they used to? Maybe not. But Mitt Romney has over one hundred of them, which is an impressive feat for a Republican. However, Romney’s ability to convert editorial boards away from their decisions to endorse President Obama four years ago is truly impressive.

To date, twenty-eight large newspapers have decided to drop their endorsement record with President Obama and put their chips all in on Romney. The blunt explanations for their decisions often gives way to some blistering critiques of the president, leaving the reader no doubt why these papers lost their faith over the last four years.

According to Editor & Publisher, Republican Mitt Romney is stunning the newspaper world, earning 112 endorsements from editorial boards around the country compared to the President’s 84. Most large market newspapers like the The New York Times and The Washington Post have stuck with Obama, but have run less than glowing assessments of his accomplishments. So while a newspaper endorsement may not mean what it once did, these conversions could be telling of a national trend.

[h=1]Washington College OK’s Exposure of Young Girls to Transgender Male in Locker Room[/h] [h=3]Thursday, November 1, 2012, 7:59 PM[/h]

Colleen Francis was using the sauna in a women’s locker room inside the recreation center at the school late in September. (KIRO)
College officials at Washington’s Evergreen College gave approval to a transgender male to expose himself to young girls in the locker room. The college told the young girls to dress behind a curtain if they don’t like it.
Alliance Defending Freedom reported:
Alliance Defending Freedom sent a letter to Washington’s Evergreen State College Thursday after college officials claimed that its non-discrimination policy doesn’t allow the school to stop a man from exposing himself to girls as young as six years old in a women’s locker room. A local district attorney has also stated that he doesn’t plan to enforce the state’s indecent exposure statute to protect the girls.
The 45-year-old male student, who dresses as a woman and goes by the name Colleen Francis, undressed and exposed his male genitalia on several occasions in the presence of young girls who use the college’s locker rooms. Students from Olympia High School and children in the Evergreen Swim Club and Aquatics Academy share use of the locker rooms with the college. Rather than prevent the man from using the locker room, the school has installed curtains and asked the girls to change behind them.
“Little girls should not be exposed to naked men, period. A college’s notions about ‘non-discrimination’ don’t change that,” said Senior Legal Counsel David Hacker. “The idea that the college and the local district attorney will not act to protect young girls is appalling. What Americans are seeing here is the poisoned fruit of so-called ‘non-discrimination’ laws and policies. Placing this man’s proclivities ahead of protecting little girls is beyond unacceptable.”

[h=2]Four and a half years ago at a primary campaign rally for Barack Obama, Stevie Wonder made headlines when he sang this major scale with Michelle Obama for a packed house at UCLA (watch until the end):[/h] Today, the "Superstition" singer performed at an Obama get-out-the-vote rally on another college campus, but the atmosphere was slightly less electric. From the Cleveland Plain Dealer:
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Legendary performer Stevie Wonder this morning expressed his love for Cleveland during a get-out-the-vote rally at Cleveland State University.
His love went largely unrequited.
Fewer than 200 people showed up to watch Wonder perform a handful of his hits at the early voting event in support of President Barack Obama.
And not all of the less-than-200 were there because of Barack Obama. As one attendee told the Plain Dealer, "How do you pass up a chance to see Stevie Wonder?"
What a difference a failed administration makes.

[h=2]Much to the chagrin of the Obama campaign, Studentsforobama.org is not supporting Obama’s reelection efforts. Instead, the site greets visitors with a video message from a college student explaining why he supported Obama in 2008 but is opposing him in 2012. The site is now a project of Let Freedom Ring.[/h] Studentsforobama.org issued this statement:
In the past four years, we have changed. We once supported President Obama. Obama made many good promises. Obama seemed non-partisan and willing to bring about change. He was charismatic. We were excited to see what would come of his administration. Sadly, Obama has failed us, instituting policies that have negatively affected us.

Because of this, Students For Obama has become Students No Longer For Obama. We have awakened to the President's failures, and we feel that it is time for a change. It's time to allow someone else a chance in the Oval Office. Obama doesn't deserve four more years of reckless behavior.
In an exclusive interview, John Cassil, a student activist heavily involved with studentsforobama.org, stated, “Being on campus for the last four years, I’ve seen student orientation take a turn from liberal leaning to libertarian leaning, with political affiliations more closely mirroring that of the Republican Party.” A senior at Clemson University majoring in management, John is troubled by the foreign policy stances of the Obama administration. As John noted, “our relationship with Israel has suffered greatly the last four years which is why I’ve become actively involved with the Young Jewish Conservatives and the Republican Jewish Coalition.”
John’s observations might not be unique to the Clemson University campus. Numerous video testimonials of students no longer supporting Obama appear on a related site.

[h=2]Four men caught in a Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA) truck full of Romney/Ryan signs were issued summons for receiving stolen property early Friday morning in Perrysburg, OH.[/h] Local police responded after residents reported seeing men stealing Romney signs in the middle of the night.
A Perrysburg Police Division incident report published by the Ohio Liberty Coalition listed four adult males in connection with the incident: Corey Beaubien, Christopher Monaghan, Sean Bresler, and John Russell. The police report indicated the vehicle in question was registered to SMWIA Local 33 of Parma.
John Russell and Chris Monaghan are listed as Business Agents for the union's Toledo district on the SMWIA Local 33 website.
Additionally, Facebook accounts appearing to belong to Beaubien, Monaghan, and Russell identify the three as employees of SMWIA Local 33.
Monaghan, age 41, uses a "Yes on 2" logo supporting the ballot issue championed by "Voters First Ohio" as his profile picture. He lists "The Ed Show" on MSNBC as a favorite TV show, and he lists the union bankrolled "We Are Ohio" super PAC as well as a page titled "I will vote for Barack Obama in 2012" under his "Likes."
Russell, age 39, likes "Obama for America - Ohio."
Beaubien, age 37, likes "Barack Obama," "Obama for America - Ohio," and Sherrod Brown's Facebook page.
The Sheet Metal Workers' Local 33 - Toledo page on Facebook is awash in liberal talking points promoting Barack Obama for president and attacking Romney. An October 27 status update pleading with members to help distribute campaign literature closed with, "We have 10 days left lets not wake up on Wednesday with our heads hung low because we lost. Remember right to work for less will be the death of us all."
Romney has voiced support for a national right-to-work law, which would allow employees in unionized workplaces to opt out of union membership without being forced to pay "fair share" fees.
The Ohio Liberty Coalition story quoted John McAvoy, president of the Northwest Ohio Conservative Coalition, as saying, "This morning 4 men driving a pickup truck registered to the Sheet Metal Union, Local 33 were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property – in the form of a bed full of Romney/Ryan yard signs, some measuring as large as 4'x8'."
"Also in the truck were tools such as drills, which were possibly used to take the large signs down," McAvoy added. "The signs were allegedly removed from several private property and business locations across Lucas and Wood County."
Tom Zawistowski, president of the Ohio Liberty Coalition, claimed that theft of Republican signage has been reported by conservative activists from across Ohio this year. "In Portage County, we had gotten advance notice that lots of signs were going to be taken last night and sure enough entire streets of signs were missing this morning. Most of which were on private property and many that were not near the road," Zawistowski said.
Zawistowski issued a warning as well, stating, "It will be interesting to learn from the investigation if those caught in Perrysburg were being paid by the Union while they were taking the signs. Our member groups will not hesitate to prosecute individuals who are caught taking signs and we encourage anyone that has a sign stolen to file a police report."
