in 2010, they paid 87.11%. So when all the Bush tax cuts were in effect, the share paid by the wealthiest was increasing
in 2012, the top 25% only paid 86.42%. So when Obama eliminated the tax cuts for the wealthy, their burden came down.
In a bad economy, when the poorest of the poor were doing worst, their % of the federal tax burden was increasing. In a growing economy with an extended period of low UE with a high LPR, when the personal wealth of lower income individuals was actually higher, they paid a lower % of the overall federal tax burden.
